Tomorrow after the NCAA news comes out, will he retract his ludicrous story that Redmond was bought a mustang?

His story was damaging to MSU and probably extended the investigation. When NOTHING is mentioned tomorrow about a mustang, Stevens needs to face some music.

I'm far from a Stevens apologist but his article never mentions someone bought Redmond a car. He said the investigation involved a car.

I am certain that the investigation also involved Mullen and some unnamed recruits. What else did the investigation involve? Surely a the investigation involved a lot of things were no infraction was found.

Stevens carefully chose his words to make people think MSU bought him a car. It worked. He got website hits for it and this car has been a damaging cloud over MSU's head for a solid year.

I feel your frustration, flabster. .................................................................

I wish we didn't suck so bad at cheating, too. That way there'd be no reason to lash out at the Matt Stevenses of the world for printing **** that confirms just how bad we suck at cheating. We are like the Chicago Cubs of cheating.

He says the investigation "involves an automobile purchased for MSU freshman defensive back Will Redmond." If he would have said "purchased by" it would be a lot different. Obviously implying someone bought a car for him.

Stevens

usually does a good job covering baseball, on Twitter. However, he is always getting involved in dumb arguments with dumb fans. This makes him no different than them. He needs to just ignore these people.

When was the last time you saw a reporter apologizing for a story being wrong? I can only think of a few times.

It's done. Why would you want him retracting and bringing further attention to it? You know damn well he'd say "I was almost right" and then go on to talk further about the retarded **** we did do.

Stevens, Gene, and Steve are the root of why we got in trouble today. They're the guys who brought all the unwarranted attention to an issue that didn't need to be an issue.

If today doesn't light a fire under the abiding boosters to put pressure to fire Brett...

Stevens is on the local afternoon sports radio show in Baton Rouge often. The host rails MSU at every opportunity, and Stevens never opposes. I specifically remember Stevens propagating the rumor on said show that Redmond was given the car. It was sensationalized to a point that the host was teasing segments with a blurb about "MSU recruit receives car. Can Mullen keep his job amid this scandal," all due to the way Stevens presented the situation.

How does this guy have a job? I mean, how does he get access to our locker room still and why do people follow him on twitter or read his crap? It's as if the only people with good job security in this day of age are horrible writers.

He might not have written it down, but I specifically remember him or one of the Genes guys stating the investigation was whether we gave him a $20,000 car for free or not. Quite a big difference in giving a guy a $20,000 car and giving him a $2,000 discount* on a 10 year old Mustang.

We're acting like the guy who gets caught cheating on his wife, and gets pissed at the person that ratted him out. Per the report the car was giving at 2,000 BELOW FAIR MARKET VALUE. I'm guessing the dealership probably lost money on the transaction.

We need to play it like Jerry Jones. When a reporter screws with the Cowboys, the reporter is black balled either formally or informally. At the very least, the guy gets a back seat instead of a front seat at press conferences and he is never allowed to ask questions or get interviews.

Sooner or later the message gets across that reporters are to play fair and/or nice or else they become less empowered to do a good job, which affects their career.

Apparently has a job because he works cheap. I mean we are talking the Columbus Dispatch here.
