Matt Wells

Now that Montrell Conner has decided to leave, am I the only one that wants Matt Wells to get a look at RB?

My reasoning is this-I think there is value in an Urban Meyer spread for a big back. Had Florida not had Tim Tebow to act as their big, bruising back, they would have recruited or utilized somenoe else. Also, look at Oregon with guys like LaGarrette Blount.

I know that we have Nick Griffen and Perkins, but Wells could be valuable down the road for us in terms of depth.

Also, as far as safety, we have Marcus Thames, Nikoe Whitley, and it might be hard to work Wells in- assuming he doesn't grow into a LB, but we also have guys like Dee Arrington, CJ Johnson, and Christian Holmes at LB.

I just think that Wells might be more valuable to us as a RB.

But I think MSU was always pretty upfront that we wanted him as a S.

Our RBs are okay, unless we start getting some guys hurt. I've heard that Bumpis is going to get handoffs this year, maybe as a wildcat type situation. We have 4 true running backs + Bumpis, Heavens, and Relf. That seems like enough of a threat.

This is an area of need and in Diaz's defense, LBs are the star of the show.
