Think it would do all good to read his letter!! Nothing wrong to express frustration ect. But we need to be careful what we say and not take it out on players..
I'm not saying i agree with everything. But i do think we need to support the players the best we can.And not put things out for public to see thats degrading.. Criticism is fair at times done respectfully.. But call guys lazy fat bucket of lard ect is uncalled for and childish.. Far as boycotting to get rid of a coach most people expect empty stadiums when fan bases turn on coach. He means well but I don't exactly agree.
Whatsup Mr. 6-6 or 7-5?? I see you don't like to eat crow. Not surprised. Quite frankly idk how people like you aren't tired of sucking. Cuz I'm freaking fed up with us being terrible at football man. I just want a coach who can win not this hot steamy pile of stoops poops.I doubt there is much that is sadder than a 40 year old man criticizing a 20 year old man for his play on a football field and feeling justified because he never got a scholarship for flipping burgers.
Oh boy. So much to say but I won't.
But forgive me as I reserve my sympathy for the student thats a single mom, working two jobs barely scraping by, and trying to better herself and her family. The university is full of em.
Compared to the majority of college students, div 1 athletes have it made.
Yeah, we can slam college football players because there are single moms working their way thru college. Not sure how there is any connection between the two.
I've never once bashed any players. I support the team. Just the whole "everybody's a victim" these days is played out.
I don't think college football players are victims any more than I think college football fans are victims.
I agree but the letter is to fans to help us understand the plight and hardships of the college athlete and how that should negate criticism etc. Truth is the student athlete life is 1000 times better than most of those people sitting in the stands. Fans have expectations because they have invested money and time in the program as well. If there's any one to blame, blame the university and the NCAA for creating the environment and pimping the players and financially robbing the fans while fattening their pockets.
The student athlete life is 1000 times better. That is bull. Do you know the stories of some of these kids? Blaming the college for making money has nothing to do with the class you show to a kid trying to bust his butt to give you exactly what you want as a fan. No connection whatsoever.
Now we see the fans as the victims? Not buying it. I am as disappointed as any fan, but taking it out on a college kid who worked hard for what he received is juvenile. Rationalizing that by claiming the college is to blame for such behavior is sad.
He likes to argue man. When he's not picking an argument he's trying to belittle people by pretending he is smarter then they are.And I've yet to see anyone anywhere bashing any players specifically. The bulk of the criticism has been directed towards the staff who are grown men, who make millions by the way.
And it's not a fans vs players at thing at all. 99 percent of us love these players.

Be gentle, I have been sick. lol
Why don't you stalk someone else?
They entered college football at a school that plays most of its games on the ESPN family networks. They knew they'd be in the public eye. They can be criticized for their play. That's more than fair. You don't see many people that criticize individual players in terms of who they are as people. No one is saying Blake McClain is a bad guy. We all know he wanted to make that interception and I'm sure no one feels worse than him. Doesn't mean people are not allowed to say he should've caught it or that it was a huge play in the game. That is good to hear. Matt Elam, Kobie Walker, Blake McClain and others will be happy to see that confirmed.

I might agree with some of the negative among you if we were talking about a pro team.
But we are talking about our UK Wildcats here. I have to support our boys (and girls) as much as I can. I can't even imagine looking up at an empty stadium as a player and how that must feel. Yes, they have great opportunities by being athletes, but they bust their asses working for it.....to entertain US. Two a days and classes when most of their classmates are drinking PBR and playing XBOX, and sleeping until noon.
Support the kids, and show up.
First. They're not kids. They're young adults. 18-23 year olds
Secondly, it's a business. The school looks at this way. The players look at this way. Yes they love our support, but tell me youre not naive enough to think theyre doing this for you. The players are being compensated and rewarded in many various ways for their services and in ways that will have a lasting effect long after college. And yes, they're not a pro team but let's not think this is Pop Warner or kids playing at the high school ball field either. Who built that 70,000 seat stadium anyway? And why?Multi million dollar practice facility? Spends millions of dollars on coaching contracts even after coaches are gone and coaching somewhere else?! In my opinion, players should be financially benefitting as well. It's the last piece of the puzzle of calling division one athletics what they really are...which is already professional in almost every aspect.
So fans do have a right to mad. Fans do have a right to not to allow themselves to be gouged at every turn by the university. You can't create a professional environment, benefit from it, and then expect fans to show the same type of support they would for the kid that can't seem to ever catch the football down at the little league field. It just doesn't work that way.
And lastly, why bash any player? Criticize play, yes. But let's not make it personal.
I haven't seen people commenting on anything other than their play. I'm sure there are doe folks that cross the line. The vast majority comment on the play as football players, and that's fair. It should be expected. When people call Matt Elam lazy, it's because he looks like he gives no effort on the field. No one is saying, "Oh that Matt Elam, I bet he is a terrible friend." I agree with you that comments can go overboard, and those are wrong, but that's not my point. My point is that the players are not above criticism because they work hard in the offseason.Commenting on their is play is different than attempting humor at their expense or making exaggerated comments about them. Coming to a school that is shown on the ESPN family should not dictate how respectfully people choos their comments.
Young adults or kids, go hang with some for a while and see how it feels to live in their world, if you cannot remember. They are not a business. They are students who work their asses off on the football field, are struggling with self image and potential failure, have school and new relationships to deal with, etc. The fact that college sports is a big industry and a lot of people pay to see them play is irrelevant.
