May be Germans but, did anyone notice Jay Hughes yesterday?

When he came into the game is when our defense actually started stopping UPig. He was great in coverage yesterday. I was very impressed with him.

I did. He played great yesterday. He needs to be starting. Much more consistent than Whitley and Broomfield just isn't a safety.

How about Market, he also impressed on special teams. Seemed to be in on every tackle on coverage.

Depth is finally starting to show itself and the defense as a unit played much better...
it also makes a big difference covering kicks when you have fresh legs that are able to play gunner on punts and cover kickoffs. And we are on track for another good recruiting class. We could still use a big time WR though.

And, the red-shirting philosophy is paying off big time. The future is bright in the defensive backfield. It's a shame Jiles got hurt early this year, because he's gonna be a good player and can use the experience. But, Love, Market, Calhoun, and Arrington have been able to get in the mix. Damn we have some depth.
