offering a 10th grade QB from Meridian High. A buddy of mine said the kid was supposedly pretty damn good as a 9th grader last year...started for Meridian as a 9th grader? Does anyone know anything about this? My buddy claims he could be 5 star material by the time he graduates, but who the hell knows that. Any of OUR "insiders" have info on this kid?

He started last year as a freshman and is projected to be one of the top QBs in the nation by his senior year.<div>
</div><div>Mullen should offer as early as possible.</div>

Shirley there's a Meridian High football fan on the board that can tell us if they had a 9th grader starting last year, and whether or not he's worth a ****.

kid gets ready to go to College! Mullen is the tenured coach now, really his only weakness to date was that he was new to the area. Game on now.

I like it.

was a thirdrounder with the Saints, then Raiders and I beleive Patriots and maybe Chiefs. J-Mar started for the baseball team as an eighth grader and will be a top prospect. He played alot last year as a ninth grader which is rare in Meridian. Had some good games throwing the ball and did have an ankle injury and played sparringly. Good size with pretty throwing motion and athletic.</p>

Kyle Russell has been all around Lauderdale county in every school looking for a chance to play QB or baseball somewhere, but he never gets to leave the bench. Nice family, but past Tyler they got nothing....

He started about 5 games due to the starting senior QB getting hurt. Senior was a better DB and was the starter due to lack ofoptions at the beginning of the year and athletic ability. J-Mar got hurt and did not play much during the playoffs. He was pretty raw but naturally gifted at QB (not just athletically)and could make some basic reads.Has a strong arm and is gifted at running. Coach Weems will develop him and by his senior year he should be a very good QB.Go Cats

ETA: Kyle Russell had some attitude problems and has not done well with football. He was really good at baseball and should have stuck with it</p>

He will be more than good. Was definitely raw, but not many ninth grade qb's in the nation could have performed much better on the 6A level.
