Maybe Dan knew what he was doing in recruiting all along?

Having frequented many message boards and talked to fans, I know there has been criticism of Mississippi State's recruiting under Dan Mullen in the past.

But when you look back at his recruiting classes, it's amazing the quality of play he's gotten out of two and three-star prospects.

I wrote about how Mullen's emphasis on evaluation and development has played a big role in the current success: http://blog.gulflive.com/mississippi-press-sports/2014/10/how_mississippi_states_recruit.html

(Obligatory shameless plug reference)

haha ouch.

This staff has done a great job of finding guys that project very well. OT and DE were the biggest question marks to me entering this season, and they've played well this year.

Gotta give these guys some credit.

Yeah, and part of that credit has to go to Hevesy for the O-line. I think a lot of people expected a fairly big dropoff once Gabe left, but it's been pretty staunch thus far. Having a mobile quarterback like Dak helps a lot too.

Just because you get man love on the B & B show doesn't mean you will get it here. Do you still feel comfortable wearing red and blue in Alabama?

I think that's fairly obviously different than what he meant by criticizing Mullen's recruiting. Most of our fans have said at one point or another that Mullen can't recruit, and I don't think an article about pulling offers is analogous.

We always knew what he was doing in recruiting. You're the one that missed it

I disagre. I think

it fits it perfectly. His article suggests that Mullen is not helping his future recruiting (and in a sense, may not know what he is doing) by pulling the offer.

Good article. I wasn't a fan of Talty's at the CL, BUT he's been one of State's

biggest media supporters in Alabama. And it would be easy to dig on MSU from Alabama. They'd eat it up.

I've read several good articles from him since he moved there, and not just because they are pro-MSU fluff. They are well written articles, some about MSU, and many about Alabama HS players choosing or considering State. He's MUCH better than several football writers from our own State of Mississippi.
