I believe staying with the wood color was a compromise between baseball and football. Baseball wanted something darker (either forest green or maroon), football wanted something lighter (preferably white). Both were most interested in creating contrast between the wall and their respective ball. So, they had to meet in the middle.

Maroon walls would be a major FAIL for catching footballs. I imagine the brown leather would blend in pretty well with our maroon. White would probably get scuffed up easier requiring more care. The color we have now is probably best for all...

Please tell me he is not being serious with what color the walls should be. They had to have a compromise on the color of the unfinished plywood????? If you honestly believe that they think about the contrast between the color of the football or the baseball please rethinkyour posts....... GOOOOODDD LOOORRDD

You don't think contrast between ball and wall is important?

Or maybe we should do some real research and see what color best contrasts with a football and a baseball.......give me a break

Have you no concept of contrasting colors? There's a reason why the batter's eye in center field is dark green. It allows the batter to actually see the ball clearly. The same concept would apply with a football. You can't have dark colored walls and expect players to be able to track a brown ball against it - especially running at full speed. It's pretty obvious the color that exists is a happy medium for both light and dark balls.

Just to simulate game day and all.

Who cares. Pretty sure they did that for the benefit of both teams until they finish it.

Your indoor facility walls would have blazer wearing hair flipping costa sporting frat boys with rebel flags in hand.

They don't care if it contrasts for aesthetic reasons, dude. It's so that you can see a ball when it's thrown and is between you and the wall. At least think about it before you start screaming.

Of course they care about contrast with the ball in an INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY! What a %%@$+$% dubmass!

Those colors have been used with uniforms, and other State color schemes before. Also, it should be enough of contrast to not blend in with baseballs, or footballs.

Yes they probably do care, but I just don't think they put up plywood around the palmeiro center for that reason. I mean honestly how well do you think you'd be able to see a whitish/yellowish baseball against that background....not very well in my opinion

and are showing your ignorance. The plywood is there to protect the walls. This is not a fan area, it's a work area so aesthetics are not the primary concern. A baseball is not "yellowish" it is white (and will turn brown outdoors but again, indoor practice facility). A football is brown. When looking for the single color that will provide the best contrast for both a white baseball and a brown football that color is yellow (black would work too but would be creepy along every wall of a building).

The biggest problem here though is that you don't mind popping off on people even though you are an ignorant dubmass. Perhaps lurking a while longer would be a good thing for you.
