Is she a serious candidate for mayor? Does she have any sort of support base? Geez, I hope not.

There's an elderly woman who runs for mayor in Huntsville every election, and has been for many years. I think she's about 80. Everybody realizes she's a joke ... or almost everybody. Somehow she always gets a couple thousand votes.

I think this lady is a very similar situation to what you describe in Huntsville. At least I remember she ran last time.
