It was closer than the final score but the games was never in doubt. Meadowbrook made some costly mistakes. Threw an int in the red zone after a good drive on their first possession. Not fielding a kickoff which gave Bird great field position, and fumbling in their own endzone and Bird recovering for their final TD. Bird couldn't get much going in the first half but they did have a nice 80+ catch and run. Meadowbrook moved the ball at times. The QB is a nice dual threat and the RB Is very good. Bird running game got going in the second half and after a Meadowbrook scored to make it 18-7 they had a nice return and 1 play score.
I said in an earlier comment on this that bnape hit it on the head... It was your comments here that were spot on.
The first half, even though MBK blew 2 scoring opportunities and were down 12-0, MBK looked like the better team for a while there. Bird was struggling on offense in the second quarter.
2nd half,Bird came out with the LOS in control and ran the ball with authority. MBK flat ran out of gas!
HS had a game with Thomas Dale.... I feel confident that Bird will have trouble with Dale! They have a real good defense. I you can't throw the ball and establish a passing game... you will be in for a long night. They will stop that run game if it's all you have...
