Well, here it is. As we all know, it's a huge Rival game. Aside from the semifinals in '22, MC has outscored SR bigly as of late.

As I see it, MC is a huge favorite at home. I honestly think MC (-28) against Rita is a fair spread.

Coming off a huge win against a national powerhouse, can this be a trap game? It's MC, so I don't think so. Although she's a big underdog, SR will play very hard and not give up. They do have some weapons, and I am hoping the hard-fought victory against Marist will be a springboard for a close game.

Chime in if you shall.

Moeller had a 5’9 WR whose biggest offer is Miami…. Of Ohio smoke them for 200 yards.
I think that the Defensove woes of last year have not gone away

SR will have some points on the board

He had last years Mr. Ohio with 58 TD passes throwing to him and a mammoth line protecting him. In 6 quarters last season SR scored 0 points against MC, last 2 Qs of the Semi was a running clock or it might have been 8 quarters. Whatever their defensive woes were last season it didn't come into play vs SR. I'm not saying SR won't score, they probably will, but I like MC at home in this comfortably.

Biggest talent disparity in my 40 years of watching these rivals. 1990 and 1996 were proud SR moments as SR defended their turf despite getting blown out. Hopefully SR doesn’t play intimidated Friday no matter the score.

I’m starting to wonder if 2022 was my last chance to see a great SR team have a chance to beat a great MC team.

Rita will need to expose MC's weakness, which is their secondary. They could score points. I also noticed a "new" wrinkle in MC's defense running a 4-3 at times.. Rita will need to surprise them with their offensive looks and stop being so familiar.

SR just beat a very talented and well coached Marist

this one could be interesting
Well Coached, yes, very talented? No. Anytime I saw Marist in the top 10 of any preseason rankings I scratched my head. They had a new QB, RB, lost their best WR to Hoops, lost their defensive line and LBs. They had a very good offensive line. Their secondary was slow footed, their isn't one in that secondary that could cover the MC or LWE WRs. Their new RB performed great, the QB was decent but the passing game wasn't a factor. I see BR beating Marist by 14. They will probably finish 6-3.

MC 42 SR 21. I don't think SRs secondary can contain Burrell, Thorton and Brown, 1 or more of them will be open. MC OL is better then SR DL. LB Lynch will be a factor for SR. Rita will score, they have some offensive playmakers, MC will score more. Yea MC secondary had their work cut out for them but they were dealing with a nationally ranked team, #1 in Ohio, with a Nationally ranked QB who was last years Ohio POY. Let's see how they do this week

I was talking to some Rita alums about the game, and they seem pretty optimistic. The win at Marist gave them a lot of confidence. Didnt talk too long with them, though, because visiting hours ended, and they had to get back to their cell.

All fair and very reasonable points as usual--you have a tendency to be spot on at times. We, Mustang fans, are hoping you are not this time. :)

I love watching the out of state teams play prior to them going up against anyone from Illinois

Moeller really had 1 receiver that needed to be shut down; Carson Khayo had 9 catches for almost 200 yards

the game prior to MC the Moeller QB was held to under 80 yards of passing

I think that if MC splayed man to man against Moeller, that their degree of success woukd have been much much higher

SR won’t be able to stop MC on offense. I’m guessing 28 pts for MC maybe more. For Rita will they be able to withstand pressure and the blitz? I think the MC secondary is still susceptible to the deep balls. SR 10.

The Moeller QB was under 50% on his completions

I watched the game live

the D and running game is what made the difference.
Khayo was their main receiving target and was shut down

MC at home after a big win on the national stage should be prohibitive favorite. What I’m looking for from Rita is to play their game till the final whistle. What I mean is don’t get crazy if the fall behind early. I think Rita keeps it closer than most think it should be. But MC in the end wins w/o being threatened.

Rita has a big game again next week with Rice. Rita fell behind Marist last week and kept its poise with a nice second half comeback. I’m very surprised that there is no talk about the Rice/Marist game tonight.

MC wins but Rita covers the spread.

I hope SR always keeps MC on the schedule no matter the talent disparity. But they should really push for the games to be played on Sunday afternoons on overgrown grass at Eckersall and Marquette Park, if it still has goalposts

I always loved Eckersall. Wonderful place.

In later years, though, it got to look like the Dirty Harry scene at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco
