Negative Posting? The CL is now more a baseball conference now than a football conference. How's that for negative posting.

Undisputed upset of the week.
Great win for St. Rita against long time Rival Mt. Carmel. Has always been a great rivalry for south siders. Went to St. Rita but didn't graduate from there, but I always have been a big fan of the Mustangs. Went to Rita on the 63rd St, Bus and and many Mt. Carmel students also rode that same bus to get to their school. We would argue with them all the time over whose team was better and sometimes fist fights broke out. Both schools had many great football players who went on to star in college and the pros. By the way, I was at Montini's game and at halftime they played their fight song and it exactly the same tune as St. Rita's but the words are different. I could be wrong but Montini must have copied Rita's song as it didn't exist when I went to Rita.

Could be someone from Lombard might know better. Plus Rita lost a great administrator to Montini in the late 80s or early 90s so that may be the connection if they do use the same background music.

Yes, the braintrust (and I'm using that term EXTREMELY loosely) at Rita had a board battle, and the smart people lost. 79th Street's loss. 16th Street's gain. Might have been the biggest mistake in the storied history of Reeters, but it has nothing to do with the fight song, which has been the same since the school opened.

Yeah, he was a great man for SR. Was great to see him speak at the Angsten funeral mass at the school. He had an interesting fall-back plan if SR didn't get the 77th street property, but I don't think the school would have survived on 63rd street. Although I admit that I always feel like less of a true Rita guy for not having gone at least one year to school at 63rd street. Hard to believe SR has been on 77th for 25 years.

I'm still on cloud-9 from that great win on Friday.
