MC's demise has been grossly exaggerated. If they had the 2 guys from IMG, they are among the top 3-5 teams in state

If only we could have the realization of a matchup with the mythical Bartlett 2005 team.

Were any IMG scouts at the game?

That was the greatest freshmen team of all time. They ended up being pretty good. I think they lost to MS in the quarters in a really tight game.

While encouraging, Fr records mean little.
Years ago I was at a Shepard @ Oak Lawn game.Oak Lawn sophs won 36-8.They were going crazy.Asked the kid why the celebration though they played good.He said the year before Shepard "A" team beat them 40 to 6 & Shepard "B" team beat them 46-8.

I believe that the freshmen won lost records do not mean a thing. From freshman year to the wise year you get transfers, expulsions, lack of development, loss of interest and a myriad of other factors that may reduce their effectiveness. It could be anything. I would say enjoy the moment and kudos to the boys for the accomplishment!

Do freshman and sophomore scores and records really mean anything? I've seen 9-0 freshman not have success at the varsity level. It's all about growth and training.

I think more importantly are the number of kids.

St Laurence had a nice sized frosh team. Rice had the biggest one I saw this year. Think they were at around 60 with MC right there with them.

Schools need to work to keep kids interested and working the diamonds in the rough as specialized sports and for the CCL transfers can have a negative impact over time.

But it's more fun than fighting about the Prep Bowl constantly.

I do agree. Yes, lower level victories do not mean automatic success at the upper level, but for the moment, it's good fodder for the fans, and I'm thinking it's good for the programs and their morale.

SR's lower levels should be a combined 16 - 2. I will take that any day, everyday and all the time. Congrats to the Caravan on winning the Freshmen Blue championship.

What was the score? How are the sophs doing?
34-0......2 outstanding running backs. Fast aggressive defense, Jordan Lynch's little brother at QB.... Sophs are 6-1 (Montini game cancelled with weather last Sat).

Players grow....players quit....players transfer....these kids haven't even started seriously lifting yet, so no, you can't gage it, but it is still encouraging! SR, BR, and LA all had good teams and PC had a couple kids playing up, so MC could have had 4 L's. That being said, they had a great team
Beat Taft 41-0
HF 42-12
LA 22-16
Philips 31-0
SR 35-20
BR 34-27
De La Salle 59-12
PC 34-0

A very competitive Blue is good for everyone involved. I know MC will be in the Green, but, at least next year, MC will be playing two Blue teams.

Any idea what they're (Catholic League) going to do for 2019? There's going to be some kind of shakeup, I thought I heard.
