More importantly, he signed a contract that is guaranteed for two years, and he'll receive $1.5 million in the second year of it. Yet, many people on this site foolishly posted that it was a big mistake for McBride to have declared early for the NBA Draft.

I would have loved it if he came back. But that would be for my own selfish reasons. Hope he makes it and has a long lasting NBA career.

Not a big mistake, but before this contact it was arguable as to whether it was the best outcome of a reasonable choice. Knicks didn't have to give him this kind of deal. Unlike Culver or Williams, another season in college ball could've moved the needle to a 1st round pick next year for Miles. Thus if the Knicks did the bare minimum required for a pick at Miles spot, it could be argued that it was less upside choice. Moot point now as it did prove to be the right move as I hoped it would. I'll admit I would have loved to have him back as I see the team as a possible outside Big 12 contender with him. Now I fear it's likely to be another close, but just not good/consistent enough to be better than 3rd.

Yes, in between draft day and the date of the deal, it was somewhat arguable, but this was Monday morning quarterbacking. McBride rose up the Draft Boards as he worked out for NBA teams, and more than one pundit projected him to be a first round pick, even as high as #16. This expectation, coupled with the knowledge that most early second round picks have been given guaranteed contracts in recent years, led him to make a good decision, IMO. Back in the "old days," it was much riskier to stay in the Draft, if you weren't a lock to be drafted in the First Round, as many second rounders weren't offered guaranteed contracts.

I don't think it's crazy to think that Miles McBride could be 1st team all rookie team,

If Thibs are seeing what we're seeing.

Not crazy at all. Jae'Sean Tate wasn't even drafted, and had to play overseas for a couple of years, but was voted as a First Team All-Rookie this past season.
