McBride seems to have the highest upside of all the guards right now. Can seemingly do everything at least decently that can hopefully be improved upon with experience.

Of course, Root is right. It is way to early yet to talk absolutes.

No thets mccabe. Who probably would leave after this year but his family wont allow it. He played a couple minutes huggs sat him the rest of the game and the reporter asked what he would say to him about what he wants from him so he can play and Huggs got smug and smart and said I dont talk to him. McBride is more athletic than McCabe but McCabe is more talented. You dont beat out Tyler Herro for mr basketball because you suck Hes never going to be a lock down defender. But he is going to be a couple things. A talented offensive player. Which Huggs just seems to hate. And just a natural born Huggs doghouse sit on the bench guy. He needs to find a balance. Sorry but Stwoh Curry wasnt locking anybody down in college, if he went to WVU I fully believe he would have played 7 minutes a game his last season. Whoever the assistant coach was that got Huggs to allow Nick Van Exel to play should get assistant of the century award for their efforts because I have no idea how that happened. He literally say Oscar and McCabe and then said I dont talk to them they can sit

You can't score on everyone but you can always play defense in basketball.

Huggins gets it. Reason why I have respect for him and WVU basketball.

He is a tough coach who will get the best out of his players.

I disagree with some of the stuff. I believe it was Culver but he told him he wasn't going to get to the NBA as a shooter but as a rebounder.

Ultimately that is Huggins team and he knows how to win.

Winning in the Big 12 will be on the defensive end.
After a little over a week you have 5 Big 12 teams in the Top 20 of defense according to KenPom.

He doesn't talk to them because they already know what they should do and are reminded of it by the assistant/position coaches daily.........
