I woke up this morning thinking it was 2010, when college basketball is a billion dollar business and we compete with every game on a national TV stage. Guess I'm dreaming, because it's obviously 1967 when nobody cares about college sports and we hire the local community college coach to come be our assistant coach.

can do anything other than chunk up 3's? If he can then at least it is an improvement.

what he is told to do by RS. It's ashame that we didn't try to hire a bench coach with some college coaching experience rather than HC from the JUCO ranks. Just have to wait and see if he really knows x's and o's.

He'll never bring in decent coaching from the outside. Get ready for pass, screen, one dribble, hold ball over head, fake pass, stand still, pass, look around, JACK, clang.

We are soon going to find out the size of your nutsack. At some point, you are either going to put a stop to this **** or you're going to be Templeton part deux to me.

The man has notbonced a ball on the court yet and you dickweeds have already flushed him. Sell some comdoms, sell your dog or wife, pool your money and go to the A.D. and buy him out. Because if we have a good year, you people are going to **** all over yourselfs.

This job pays nothing. There is no way an established assistant with a good x's and o's reputation would come here for what this job pays. Quit your bitching and give the guy a chance.

back in the early 90s? Think maybe he's matured some as a coach, since that had to be 16 or 17 yrs ago?

but we didnt hang out or anything...I'm sure he has matured, but i'll be shocked if we upgraded from Kirby.

The guy played his *** off and if he can bring that to our players, that will be a good thing. But expecting more than status quo will be a big mistake

He will be the offense this year, running the show for Rick. It will be just like J-Money's team except RSS is 6"11 and 300lbs..
Get ready.......

Not sure. But what several people fail to remember is that Marcus Grant was promoted soon after Kirby resigned. This was an entry level assistant position. Basically this Brooks will be at the bottom of the pecking order.

it was less than 30K.

Regardless, you just aren't going to lure anyone worth a **** to be a 3rd assistant.

Hell, the last guy hired for this position was Marcus Grant. His coaching experience prior to the hire was literally nothing. If there is anything to be pissed about, its that Grant was promoted.

If Stans is making over $1.2 million and your assistants only $30K, then you will never get anyone worth a damn and will always get a yes man on the bench.
What is Phil making? $ 50K

where do you expect that type of person to come from if not a juco? Its also a restricted recruiting position.

And what do you expect a 3rd asst to do other than be a yes man? You know the quickest way to get fired? Don't be a yes man.

The position actually pays 70K so its not about paying too little.
