One was because our former ace recruiter who was like a godfather to the kid couldn't land him. Also, Mizzou did the same thing we did for a 4 star triple digit recruit, except theirs is a 5 star single digit.

I've been a fan of Andrews for a while. Seems like a very likable kid. Cal will have a very high ceiling again next year, but I think he needs a lot more talent up front to do anything more than a S16.Smith Jr. and JJ Andrews.
Oweh wasn't great. He was just good relative to a bunch of worse scrubs. Not even first team in his conference. He was very good, sure, but Stokes can be just as good / better as a frosh.
I just don't believe the whole "waiting on Self" narrative to the Stokes recruitment.
Just because Self has made a return official to the media doesn't mean he hasn't discussed it with Stokes.

It's going to be Self or Vaughn as KU coach next season.
Maybe Stokes is deciding whether he wants to play for Vaughn or not.
I kinda lean to the fact that he will make his decision after the portal closes on the 21st.
Not good for the schools involved but gives him the clearest picture of who he will be playing with.

Lol freshman class was good this year, not too many McDonald's kids on Florida and UConn rosters prior though. I remember tubby had worse classes and he never went to nit...or had only eight wins
Thought Stokes turned it on in the 4th.. These kids wanna be surrounded by other great players now, it’s not about ME anymore. Took forever, but they realize now that it’s easier on everybody when you’re surrounded by talent. If mark can somehow get 2 or 3 good players, others will follow. This is probably total BS but….
Whats more alarming to me is that if they did a 3-star only McDonalds All-American game 2 weeks ago, we STILL wouldn't have representation there. We literally had no one.

How TF can a head coach and his staff have not a single recruit in March? Like, what are they even doing back there? You got 13 potential spots to fill and you have not one incoming freshman? How is that even possible, when you really think about it.
Definitely got a boost of energy in that last 5 minutes, where the West blew the game open. He was definitely the leader of the West, talking the entire time telling people who to guard and where he would be.
This was a very good basketball game to watch. Not a lot of turnovers and the guys really shared the ball all around. Each of them tried to find their spots to do a little one on one, but weren't over the top ball hogs like you have seen in recent years games. Each guy on the floor really defended as well which is what I love to see.
It is just sad that the Cats couldn't get any of these kids because all of them are going to contribute for their respected squads next season and Kinney and all of the guards in this game are fundamentally sound. The cats couldn't get one of these guys. SMH!!!
Besides a handful of the kids in the MC D's AA game, it is way more important to retain 4-5 of the guys we have, and land 4-5 impact players from the transfer portal.
I'm much more concerned about who we get to transfer than about what HS kid signs with us.

Didn't say he was but that class was awesome and we had real talent on the way.
I could be in the minority, but even when we had like 6 dudes in the game, I never enjoyed watching the actual game. Commentary usually sucks and it’s mainly hero ball night with defense played at 70 percent effort.

The actual game usually sucked and was more like a scrimmage. I miss getting the players though.

Well, we do have Mason Williams and Hawthorne was a redshirt so he’ll be a freshman. Plus there’s still 10 other players on the roster as of now.
He was a fifth-year high school senior which made him ineligible.
I think the key words here are "potential spots". Actually, there's only one spot to fill until they either voluntarily enter the portal or are forced to leave.
Every team seems to be fine adding a few freshman every year to a full roster. We didnt shy away from freshman because we only had 1 spot.. we just legit cant recruit to save our lives right now.
Oweh and Aberdeen are gone for sure. And you have to imagine some of these guys are going to transfer with how easy it is to move around. Under no circumstance should kentucky ever think "we dont need freshman because we currently have 11 guys who we think will return".
Underwhelming class. None of these kids are going to have major impact in anyone winning a title next year.
