You really don't understand do you. New companies and older ones are moving south to get away from the anchor of unions. They don't want to deal with all that.
Trust me I grew up pro union and still think they could do good if they would actually try.
But that's the reason Hyundai, Kia, Honda, Toyota, even Ford, GM, and Chrysler are moving. The unions have eaten their young. The automotive industry is so competitive and demanding. It has evolved and is at the point that thing that were over looked and considered no big deal, are not acceptable anymore.
Consumers don't put up with "Monday" cars now. Meaning they were made on Monday when everyone was hung over from the weekend. Too many options for consumers now. You have to be on top of your game all the time or they will their vehicle from someone else.
