Thanks that was kind of you to say. Congrats on psu still being a juggernaut.I haven't even had time to read the boards, but, I just wanted to stop by and say that Iowa had a really solid tournament. I think that Arnold is one of the best stories from the tournament. I always root for Kennedy and loved seeing him battle for 3rd. When 7 of your 9 wrestlers outperform their seeds, that is a phenomenal effort. Congrats.
I think he is one of the only one’s who give Iowa some loveYou guys are ridiculous. He talks up everyone. He just loves wrestling
He said he weighed in at 190 in an interviewAny idea what Gabe's actual weight is right now?
He’s on a better team than McNelly and Sinclair, and nobody assumes they will transfer. I wouldn’t be totally shocked if AJ takes one last shot at getting Beth to let him transfer to Iowa his senior year, and cut back down to 197 unless Ben decides to go full football starting this springI'd be very surprised if Angelo leaves, which spot would be better for him? He is the face of the team next year, he has very good partners, and he seems to like being at Iowa.
That’s amazing. It should be the story of the tournament. He said he weighed in at 190 in an interview

The bigger Raney will probably take his place or Vega with Raney cutting to 141 unless Jax goes 141, then they may both redshirt. Good problem fro them to haveHe's always done sh*t like that. Kid is a whiney little punk when he loses.
Regarding AJ...you try wrestling a guy that's closer to age 30 than age 20!According to Bob N, our Ferrari needs surgery. I’m sure they had a plan that he would see what he could do on the front side injured, but wasn’t going to risk further injury on back side. Risk reward. AJ just got beat up last night, think his pride was too injured to continue![]()
Impressive that he lost a match in ride outs to Rocco with Rocco cheating, beating Sinclair again, losing in ride outs to Max. Even when healthy 1st half of season he thought he was about 70% of his ceiling . Hope he’s right and can get the surgery asap and start recovery.I don’t like it. Points he scored on the backside could have helped in the team race.
I did not. They definitely seem like two peas in a pod though. You know that he and Davis were practice partners at the same HS in Michigan, right?
Sadly, probably take 3rd next year and will be the PSU in the ACC conference. With Bassett at 41, Gaj 49, Henson 57, and Melvin 65 they will have a strong team.

AJ’s gotta be 24-25 at this point? With eligibility remainingRegarding AJ...you try wrestling a guy that's closer to age 30 than age 20!
Given what we know of Cuban wrestlers, I'd guess he's 27/28?
24.AJ’s gotta be 24-25 at this point? With eligibility remaining
Echemendia is “26” and somehow still has a year left.AJ’s gotta be 24-25 at this point? With eligibility remaining

Hearing people cheer for him makes my stomach churn and my blood boilEchemendia is “26” and somehow still has a year left.
I’m not a quitter.Life. Death. Taxes. Libertylover getting himself boned up over the fantasy idea of AJ wrestling for Iowa.
I should have taken this out of my multi-quotes, because several people have already said it; That's every Swiderski match. Once a thug...What's going on with the Swiderski match? Everyone looked ready to throw down.
I was going to start a thread on that. There is no way one ref should be ref or mat judge in so many of one team's matches at this tournament. I can't believe how many he was in.It honestly is a statistical anomaly to have him ref so many of our matches at NCAAs this year.
He annoyed the crap out of me when he first started broadcasts, but I've grown to like some of his silly sayings and his love for the sport. I love how he trolls Gibbons with his "Coffee Grinder" comments, and he had a great quote this tournament about getting your priorities straight, something I say all the time.Yeah I don't understand the Sparks hate. He loves the sport and lives it.
He never talks down and always talks up wrestlers/ teams. Sure he can be a bit annoying with his excitability, but so what.
He's a pro, unlike most talking heads on the TV.
Edit: I've had a few interactions with him on twitter and of all things it was about baseball. All positive. I'd definitely have a beer with the guy and talk about anything.
They need bonus to pass us, as several have now pointed out. And Mikey to lose, which I hate to say is likely.No. By my math, if Davino and Mendez both win, Ohio State passes us. If one loses, they don't. Simple as that.
Where does that leave the Raneys? Maybe they'd better switch commitments..That force Vega up too. Both are lanky, so possibly.
