who's gonna clean up the wet spot under Kiper's seat after that pick. He probably browned out his whitey-tighteys after his man/boy love-child, Clausen, got by-passed for Tebow. Just for all the crap they try to give him, I hope he goes to Denver and wins the starting job and Clausen goes to Buffalo and and is never heard from again.<div>
</div><div>Funny note: After the Super Bowl ad, now he's headed out to a state with lots of hard-core conservatives and home of Focus on the Family.</div>

He will never be an every down QB in the NFL. I can't believe they traded up to get him.

I would have picked McCoy ahead of Tebow but I do think that Tebow will be good... not Marino, but good.

A lot has been made about his throwing mechanics but I will be interested to see what happens when he is doing nothing but working on his game for a living. I have to admit that I am very surprised he went that high, but then again the guy has been nothing but a winner since he stepped on the college football field and I see him doing whatever it takes to make himself a valuable player for the Broncos.

I also think the Broncos may have been scared of drafting Clausen because of the possibilities of all the hair products in Colorado disappearing overnight or being taunted mercilessly by the South Park guys.

forget all that "he's a winner" ********.. lots of guys were winners IN COLLEGE....I've got two eyes that work and for the purposes of NFL football, Clausen is a head and shoulders better prospect than Tim Tebow every day of every week.

if your pick comes up and he's there, MAYBE you take a chance.. but to trade UP to get him? That's ludicrous

they would have signed Brady Quinn. And I would have been bummed that they're wasting money on a guy that couldn't start for the Browns.
If they would have drafted Clausen on top of that, anything blue and orange I own would be on fire in the yard right now.
It will be interesting to see if the offensive genius that can't beat the Raiders at home uses Tebow as a random offensive player, or actually under center.

you and Optimus are smarter than every NFL executive out there.

I would never bet against Tim Tebow. He's one tough SOB.

but it isn't just about Tebow. That can be questioned. What can't be questioned is that no team is very impressed with Jimmy Clausen.

honestly, I'm not really impressed with Clausen either. I think this is one of those drafts where you draft a guy like a Jonathan Crompton late and all of a sudden he comes out of nowhere and is a good NFL QB. Not saying that I think Crompton is impressive or what will happen, just being hypothetical. Just like Brady when he was drafted.

I'm not really impressed with really any of the QB's in the draft this year to be honest with you.

I guess the Broncos are thinking, "Well, this guy may not work out at QB, but at least we can use him as a Wildcat QB and get some value for him whether he pans out or not". Whereas you draft Calusen and he doesn't do jack.

Second and third round picks turn out to be quality NFL players every year. That they would trade away three chances at a guy that will help them every game for Tebow is just poor judgment.

In retrospect, isn't this how most NFL drafts turn out to be.

take four years probably at least for him to become a good NFL quarterback. The Broncos can't wait that long, they have two shittastic quarterbacks on their roster. They either should have filled another need, or gotten a QB who can contribute sooner. It was a stupid pick.

They can float with Orton until then. The powers that be obviously agree with me.

Exactly,
guys like Tommie Frazier, Josh Heupel, Jason White, Eric Crouch, Greg McElroy, Craig Krenzel, Ken Dorsey, Jay Barker, and Danny Wuerfful to an extent didn't lose many games in college either. People probably said the same thing about them come draft time, "pick so and so, he's a winner."

Kiper, needs more hair plugs in that forhead and he has **** for a brain. He has been talking Tebow down for a year and AD also. Love, that he is looking like a fool.

With the three other guys, he stymied them at different times, left them with nothing to say, searching for the right answer. With Tebow, that never happened.<div>
</div><div>Gruden is convinced he'll be a good NFL quarterback. Hearing that changed my view of Tebow a little bit, as Gruden is a guy who is known as an offensive coach and was a darn good one in the NFL.</div>

There just aren't very many good QBs in the draft period. I'm surprised Tebow went that high, but the fact that Jimmy Clausen and McCoy were fighting for No. 2 on most boards shows how bad it is. A lot of teams that need QBs are passing up on them this year in favor of going for them in next year's draft that apparently is going to be a better QB class.

The intrigue with Tebow is that he could try other positions if QB doesn't work out.

It's the same logic that's part of the reason that left tackles are so valuable, aside from the protecting the blind side thing. Even if they don't work out as a LT, you can move them to RT and still get something from them, and if that doesn't work out, you can try them inside at guard. When you draft, a LT, you know you're likely to at least get something from them, even if they don't turn out as good as expected.

That's what I think you get with Tebow to an extent. He's athletic and strong enough to try other positions, if it doesn't work at QB. I still don't think he's a first rounder, but I can see that piece of added value.

and yeah everybody remembers Gruden and those high-powered offenses he had in Tampa Bay. You could pull any number of tapes of stuff Tebow needs to do better if you really wanted to.

Kyle Orton nearly passed for 4000 yards last year. I would be shocked if Tebow ever approaches that number. And that just shows you the difference between college football and pro football.
