How does this guy still have a job?

This guy runs the worst defense in Chicago Bear history and the hatchet misses him?

I can name a dozen HIGH SCHOOL defensive coordinators that have better schemes than Tucker.

Not so fast. I expect the new coach to come and clean house. He will want to bring his own guys in, right?

Well, let's hope the new GM and coach have some common sense, because Mel #$#$ucker is brutal! I honestly think Aaron-legit gripe-Cromer is more worth keeping than this guy.

The way this works is that they give the assistants the chance to find another job. Happens all the time. Purpose behind this is if he signs elsewhere the Bears wouldn't be on the hook for his salary. Most one the teams that fired coaches today did the same thing. No way he is retained - can't imagine any of them will be.

They fired Kromer with cause so they don't owe him a dime. Cavanaugh had only a 1 yr deal.

It's pretty obvious that they announced the kromer firing to send a message about what happened. I think if treat an fired Kromer on the spot at the time we may have ha a slightly different outcome....

But not firing him was an example of what was wrong.

I don't remember the names but I do remember how awful the Bears offenses were from like 1971 through 1975. Then again from around 1978 through 1982. I remember seeing some games in those days and listening to the boos from the crowd. The first two Bears games I ever went to they didn't score a point in either. The Vikings shut them out and the Falcons shut them out. It was real bad then.

...or Joe DeCamillis. How do you have that incompetent of a Special Teams and NOT get fired? I would have to imagine there are plenty that can do a better job than him.

NFL contracts for coaches run a bit different he's still technically on but will be fired once a new HC is announced....they allow guys to come in use the facility etc. while they are out looking for a new job...
