He could easily be next year’s Brea.

Freeman could be next year’s Robinson.

Need to find a Carr-like stretch 4.

A stud point guard and a third big would also be on my wish list.

This. A specialist off the bench behind a guy like Ogbim. On a team that's a lot deeper and more dangerous running Pope's offense, he'd have much better numbers. He was forced to be a "chucker" as someone else put it. He'd be the Brea replacement for sure.

I’m not entirely sold on eaglestaff. Seems like a shot chucker who is very inefficient. But if pope wants him in willing to give him a chance
The guy has a very nice shot and seems to understand how to play the game, the fundamentals. At 6'6", he is about the same size as Robinson, and the same range. He did score 40 against Bama, and 51 against another team. UK hasn't had anyone score near that amount.

I doubt this guy is going anywhere to come off the bench. But who knows, pay him enough and he might be open to it.

You don't "replace" Brea with a 36% 3 point shooter. His role would obviously be a little different.

You’ve already proven you know nothing about talent evaluation when you posted this gem about Braden Smith 😂

Braden smith for all those who didn’t want him…. We should definitely get him if he’s available.

This dude is not going anywhere to come off the bench.

Didn’t know you ran a recruiting service. How much do we owe for your wisdom?

I remember when half this board was saying Butler couldn’t be PG1 in the SEC and that he “better be coming as the backup”.

Take that as a reminder to take the “experts” on this board w a grain of salt. If a dude can fill the stat sheet at a midmajor and they’ve had success against the p5 programs they’ve played while having mid major teammates, they typically can do it at the high-major level with high-major teammates to take pressure off. They may be asked to fill a different role and not be a gunner trying to score 40…but the basic skills translate and Pope will build a team where all the pieces compliment and fit

Of course he is, Robinson is hurt and can’t play. I’d think the healthy player is better NOW as well.
Robinson had to be pushed to take the leadership roll and usually shied away from the lead role when it mattered most. He had skills but no confidence. This guy rates considerably higher in the confidence scale with similar shooting skills and better attack skills.

Like Eaglestaff's name. Like his size with us losing two at that position. Like his offense. Like his experience. Like that he could play the two or three. Defense and consistency only questions I see.

Man, defense is often a hard thing to get a handle on from watching a few games – or at least it is for me. When it comes to defense, I’d prefer opinions from somebody who’s seen the guy a ton (maybe a whole season) and then some defense metrics – which I’ll be honest, I don’t really know enough about the correlations/validity of those (other than steals and blocks somewhat) to know how much faith to put in them.

Is there anything to the rumors of him hitting the portal? Because clearly he would be the crown jewel if he does and KY should prioritize him as the number 1 target. He will cost a pretty penny but he'd be one of the few guys who is probably worth paying a premium for. I'd hate to grab the first kid we can sign only to have this kid come out later.

Me either, we need the best talent. I want absolute studs like Kadary Richmond last year. Butler, Jax level guys at least.
Richmond is a very good player for St. John's, but he is not a fit for UK. He has no outside shot. His game is to drive and he rebounds pretty well.
