I understand the concept of wanting to get the fans involved, but as long as you keep allowing people into practice, you are going to have crap stirred up about the program.

Granted Kyle Veazy was doing his job, but had he not been at practice and seen Jackieass talking to the players, he would have never taken the story, ran with it, and blown it into something that is more than it is.

Also, by not allowing people into practice, we can stop these ridiculous discussions about your foul language. In my opinion, I don't care if you call every single player a MF'er in order to motivate them. There are some who believe that you are wrong to use language like this. These people need to just realize that if they don't like it, don't go to practice. These are same people who really believe that their preacher has never had a glass of wine in his lifetime.

that practices should be closed.

But, I don't know anyone who would be motivated by being called an MF'er. And I cuss ... regularly. Just saying.

Dan is making every attempt to reach out to the fan base to get them pumped up about football again. Allowing fans to coach the Spring game and calling for 40,000 to come watch, reaching out to high school and JC coaches, etc. Some things work, some don't. He'll live and learn.

I will say this, bring Jackie back into the program is a great move. Dan really likes having him involved so look for more of it. He sees the same intensity in Jackie that he wants from himself, the coaches and the team. They might do a little more research into the rule book though.</p>
