your fate would be the same as mine. It`s not that I forgot how to coach and win, that gig just ain`t what it used to be. Signed, Rich Rod

Yep. Brady Hoke was successful at his previous jobs too, and I bet he'll be good at his next one. There's just something rotten about Michigan.

For Dan to get that offer, I think he would have to get a playoff spot. If he does that, would you leave us having another year of Dak, cj, and JRob?

Agree ...

Posted this in the Oregon 'upset' Thread but it applies here too ... Something is seriously wrong with that program. They always recruit well but the product on the field is not impressive.

What are folks in Michigan saying now about Rich Rodriguez abilities to coach after he has Arizona leading the Pac 12 (5-0, 2-0) and coming off upsetting #2 ranked Oregon for the second year in a row as a +24 point dog ... and at Autzen Stadium in Eugene no less.

Meanwhile in Ann Arbor, once mighty Michigan is (2-3, 0-1 Big Ten) with wins over Miami of Ohio and Appalachian St

I love how we go from one season worried someone is going to pluck Dan from us, to fire Dan, back to someone is going to take Dan from us. I'm willing to bet that before the season is over there will be a fire Dan week again.

It's all a plan to hire Hud so we can finally have a good football team.

This product we're watching now just won't cut it against the likes of LSU.

If you want to talk about a bipolar fanbase, just imagine if LSU had caught that hail mary at the end of the game.

Prefer to focus on the first 57 1/2 minutes of the game...that was the story of the game..not woulda, coulda, shoulda

The point is right now we're terrified he's going to leave for another school because he invented football. But had LSU caught the hail mary then he'd be on the same level as Croom and we'd be better off with Hud. The point is that one play can't be the difference in Lombardi and Croom, which is how our fan base would view it.

Who is terrified he's leaving? He's in the top 20 in salary nationally. We've built everything he's asked. If he wants to trade "up" to 100 times the pressure for a marginal salary increase, I'm confident we would be fine. We don't know for certain that this year's LSU win isn't Auburn 2012 redux. He's done a good job here, especially considering where we were. But he's got work yet to do to even be considered for a job like Michigan.

Been thinking about Michigan job. Think one of these guys will get it or should get it:

Harbough -- obvious choice if he'll come

David shaw -- doubt he would leave stanford, but worth a call. I think his style would be perfect at Michigan

Bielema -- he's won big in big 10 before and matches style wise

Jim tressel -- isn't his show cause up? If so, he'd be a homerun hire also

Bronco mendenhall -- I just like this guy. He coaches a physical style of football so I think he's a good fit

Petrino -- different from the others style wise, but a heck of a coach.

Any of these would turn the Michigan program around IMO

Paraphrasing Smuley: I`m a hell of a lot more concerned about who would hire the new coach than I am Mullen leaving.

Harbough's wearing his welcome out in San Francisco real fast, so he's the most likely. Bielema would be a good hire. Bronco Mendenhall would be a disaster.
