First off, today I remember my grandfather, a GOB who enjoyed deer hunting in all of his spare time who was converted to a rifleman during WW2. He came home, but what he saw and did changed him forever. Even those who returned sacrificed a great deal of peace of mind for the rest of their lives. A big thank you from those who have learned their history.

How is the pack celebrating their Memorial Day? Any stories of relatives in service you want to share? We have alligator, pork, and chicken sausage on the grill with zucchini and corn to keep us regular. A few Gulf Coast shrimp as well for our peskytarian friend coming over.

Today, I remember two people. First, my close friend from high school who passed in Iraq due to an IED in 2006. Next, my grandfather who was the boxing champion on the USS West Virginia. He got to Iwo Jima about 24 hours after the famous flag picture was taken there.

Last night, I grilled bacon wrapped pork, stuff with cream cheese and jalapeños. Along with grilled corn on the cob.

To all who have served, thank you.
