I think the practice start date is based on the date of your first game. By moving the Memphis game up two days, we can start practice two days earlier. Therefore, you get 2 additional days of practice during the year. We gain two days before the Auburn game, but we don't lose two days before the Memphis game. I think Mullen likes this.
August 4th. He was making a point about Carmon having to get better on his own between now and then rather than be instructed by staff. That doesn't necessarily answer your question I know but shows we will have 27 days from beginning of Fall drills to game day.
