Plus, it looked like it was take a kid to the game night. I'm sure those were all free tickets.

that's what was going on at the Liberty Bowl last night? i drove by there and thought A) the lights were on because they were painting the field or B) they were letting a JV high school team play there. when i drove by, you couldn't see anyone in the stands.

Yeah, that was bazzar last night. It was like West did not care, none of the players care, and obviously their 20,000 basketball fans don't either. I can not blame their fans. Who would want to sit in the rain on a Tuesday night and watch a flag football team run a bunch of cute plays that result in fumbles and negative yardage. Whoever is their OC should be fired too. With that QB, those big WRs, and a decent RB in Steele, they should not be pitching the ball all over the backfield.

4k though......that will not get you in the SEC. Not that there was a chance to begin with.....

I don't know who does fit the profile they desire, but it should be 'young, up and coming coach aspiring to bigger and better things'. They need a coach that's looking to use them as a stepping stone, because that's the type of coach that will put in the effort they need. Think USM and Larry Fedora. Not sure Fedora was a great hire or not, but he's a young coordinator that's trying to use them as a stepping stone.

Gus Malzahn may be above their heads. Honestly I think Hugh Freeze would be a good fit, or they could go look at other lower level head coaches.

On the attendance, Memphis would've made more money by selling tickets to a basketball scrimmage at the Forum.

Im sure they could offer over 500K for the job, and that will get you a young guy from a program that isn't a coordinator, or someone that is way past their prime but had some success at one time in their life.

Fulmer is over qualified, but may want to get back into coaching, and would be a horrible fit, since his gameplan is to out talent people.

Croom could get a call, but I think he is under qualified.

If Im Memphis I find a young 30 ish African American coach who is a position coach at a big program and see what he can do. Memphis has enought talent in the City to field a decent team if you can keep some of it from leaving.

I'm sure they would offer a similar package. They do have a good amount of FedEx support, and Fred Smith's son, Cannon, is currently on the team sitting out a year as a transfer student. Cannon will be in the QB mix next year, so you know if they fire Tommy that they'd have some good booster support in choosing their next hire.

If he can succeed at USM, he can succeed at Memphis. He knows the recruiting area well and has shown he has a knack for developing talent or spotting diamonds in the rough. That's critical at Memphis being a CUSA team in the middle of SEC country.

Dooley at La Tech wouldn't be a bad option if he's not being courted by anyone better.

I bet 70 percent of high school games in Mississippi have at least that.

Turner Gill from Buffalo maybe?
