Memphis and UT don't compete that much for students other than in Nashville area.. I mean we're talking about 8 hours apart..

Plus just about anybody can get in UT.

Not going to get into a pissing match here, but UT is much more selective than Memphis. Not saying its Harvard, but UT is harder to get into than UM. Avg entering GPA is 3.6 vs. 3.1.

And if you guys don't think there are tens of thousands of UT alums and fans in Memphis, you obviously know nothing about this area.

There may be some that couldn't get in but many are just people that didn't want to travel all the way to knoxville for school or just couldn't afford the travel.
