Men's tennis cinderella run all the way to SEC tourney final

Gamecock men's tennis entered the SEC tourney in Baton Rouge as the #11 seed out of 13 teams after a somewhat disappointing year thanks to injury to two key players.

But the Courtcocks have come together for a great SEC tourney run! They took out the #6 Seed Alabama 4-2 then beat #3 Miss State 4-2 and today stunned the #2 seed Tennesse by the same score. Miss State is top 15 in the country and Teneessee is #7 in the nation.

Gamecocks will face the winner of #1 Kentucky vs #13 LSU, who is also going on a cinderella run, in the final.

Casey Hoole, who was playing #2, got injured and didn't play in last 6 matches or so of the season. It makes it tough to win doubles and at #6 singles.

Toby Samuel was a rock for us all season at #1 but what was funny about today vs Tennessee was that he actually got crushed 6-3 6-1 but everyone else responded bigtime.

Doubles in play now. Gamecocks and UK tied the first doubles matches winning #3 and losing #2. They are tied up in the #1 doubles 6-6. Whoever wins the best 2 out of 3 in doubles play wins the first team point, with the singles coming later for the other points.....

Gamecocks win the first 2 singles to take the lead 2-1. Looks like the best bets will be the #5 and #6 singles - Jelani Sarr has split the first 2 sets in the #5 singles, while Carter Morgan is tied 1-1 in the 2nd set after losing the 1st in a tie-break in the #6 singles....

Now 2-2 for the match, as Kentucky won the #4 singles.....
