It's nice to see the coach's wife so into the game and cheering the team on. Some of you people just have to have something to ***** about, especially when it comes to a member of the Stansbury family.</p>

are fun. If you want our coach's wife to jump around like an idiot...that's ok. She can stand up and yell or clap without doing that.

But she looks absolutely ridiculous at times. You can cheer loudly without embarrassing yourself. I think she's actually toned it down a bit recently

Cheering like this, this post would be about how awesome it is to have her. But, being Stans' wife, you poke fun at her enthusiasm. Pretty amazing if you ask me to see a wife that engaged in her husband's team.

I thought it has been a result of being the pre conference schedule and would heat up once we got to conference play. That was pretty non intimidating last night for a home crowd. Maybe that was why she was pissed.

Is the iPhone, etc. half the people in the building are looking at their phone constantly. I agree. It's become dismal over the last few years, hard to get excited when just about everyone fully expects a collapse due to a lack of competent coaching

If my wife was making a million plus a year coaching, even if Ihated sports,I'd be at every game and making twice a much noise as Meo does, painted up like Bruce Pearl when he showed up at the UT women's game. Hell yeah, bring in the big bucks baby.

I had always wondered why everybody talked about her, but last night...I saw why. She was just about as entertaining as the game last night. At times, I was totally entranced. For better or for worse, I was entertained.

the only reason she stands out is because everyone else in the arena needs their pulse checked. The atmosphere and noise is NOTHING like it was in the past, and we have a top 20 team right now. The TV announcers still refer to the Hump being one of the toughest places in the conference to play, but that is a jokebased on the last few years.

It would be different if she was just trying to be the center of attention, but i think her intentions are to cheer and support our team. That's all that matters. Oh but "she looks ridiculous". To who?Explain to me why she should give a ****. I'll hang up and listen.

My thoughts on Meo can be described as up and down. We've got to get a clip of that to "The Man's Show".

Our old fans just sit there and look pissed off. And I can guarantee you that the only reason that they don't say anything to Meo is because they know that she is Stansbury's wife otherwise they would have had her ushered out for standing up during the whole game. Although, I do think she goes over the top with her enthusiasm. That's better than just sitting there though.

Does this coincide with the decison to reshuffle the season ticket holders and allow big donors to move down to the front?Probably should have just raised the roof and built some skyboxes for them to relax and socialize. I have been to one NBA game a couple years ago and was unimpressed.Hornets vs Sixers in NO. Nobody hardly seemed to care what was going on until the end of the game. Guess that it is where the game may be going.

Have not been to Hump in about 4 years but used to be season ticket holder for several years and the atmosphere was fantastic.</p>

To that point and FWIW (which is little tonothing), here is a Kentucky fan's assessment of what he saw on TV last night:

<font size="2">"Very good indicator as to how tough it is for UK to go on the road. The crowd at MSU was quiet most all night. A lot of empty seats, and no orange that I could see except around the UT bench. I have seen better crowds at OVC games. IMO the biggest reason UT played them close was it seemed more like a scrimmage than a real game.

When UK shows up in Starkville I will guarantee it will be a sold out madhouse. Blue will be scattered out all over the place, but there will be a lot of MSU students that will really be into the game until the end.

Sidney might be the largest BB player I have seen in the SEC since Shaq. He can't make two trips up and down the floor without just walking up, but he is huge. The guy is losing million$ because he won't get in shape.

I think UT at Knoxville and MSU in Starkville will be two of UK's toughest games."</font>

I like Meo. I like the way she supports the dogs.

I'd qualify as an old fart in any crowd, and I cheer. I yell. I don't jump up and down, because on a good night can get about tree inches ground clearance for one or two jumps before my knees shut down.

You guys are right though. At times, teh hump feels like a wake. Makes me want to look for the coffin so I can go pay my respects.

Most of the court side seats are all corporate instead of basketball fanatics. I have a friend that is in the 400's in the bulldog club and couldn't even get tickets that weren't behind the backboard upper section so he gave them up. I know money makes this thing run but I agree that the business meetings should be up in a luxury box and get the fans court side.

I'm a pretty fanatical sports fan, but I'll be damned if it isn't nearly impossible to make myself go watch a Rick Stansbury coached team play. Like someone else has already said, it seems as if the entire fanbase holds its collective breath as it waits for Stansbury to inevitably 17 something up. Hell, Wes Rucker and Dan Wolken, UT beat writer and national sportswriter respectively, were talking last night about how this team had tons of talent but ****** coaches. We should have beaten UT by 20, but we didn't. We should have sodomized Arkansas, but we ended up being the ones who took it up the ***.

Say what want, but Stans has "lost" the fanbase. We could be incredible and people are still going to wait for the inevitable collapse. As long as Stans is the coach as State, the crowds are going to be less enthusiastic than they should.

is that in an arena filled with 7 or 8 thousand people, every single person can point out the one woman who is cheering. and then not only can everyone point her out, she is ridiculed. how 17ed up is that? only at state are the fans so lazy that the only way they think its cool to make a shitload of noise is if you have a cowbell in your hand. thats why the rest of the conference hates the cowbells. because they all cheer their *** off with their hands and lungs yet our fans mock those in maroon that do it the more traditional way. if everyone of you bitches was cheering, no one would have a 17ing clue where meo was.

I think it is great that Meo supports the team in an enthusiastic and encouraging manner. Be yourself, go crazy and who gives a **** what other people think.

on a side note - Too many people in MS care too much about how other people are judging them. There are also too many people in MS that pass judgement.

best I can tell, usually don't even show up for the games. For instance ... doesn't anybody know what Saban's wife looks like?<div>
</div><div>I think it's great that Meo is there supporting her husband and supporting the team. And if people are sitting on their hands, more power to her if she's trying to stir up the crowd. All of us act a bit silly at games, so why can't she?</div>

every coach's wife goes to the games. they sit in the luxury boxes with the AD at away games and in the head coach's luxury box at home games.
