Christmas Eve is my favorite day of the year. I love candlelight service on Christmas Eve. I arrive early for service. I'm looking at the program and I don't see my friend and pastor on the program. I text her and ask her if she's going to be at tonight's service. She says no. She's staying away from germs. I asked her if everything was okay. She says she has pancreatic cancer. So, I'm crying and sobbing right before services are to begin. I'm still wiping away tears periodically throughout the service. Man...

This is someone I'm very close with. We went to Disciple bible study for three straight years with her and her husband in the 90's. Very intensive. Her husband was going through a battle with skin cancer in the second and third years of the course. He goes into remission and then it comes back and he ends up passing from it. She, professionally, was a principal at an elementary school here in Arlington that my late wife taught at.

Have I told you guys how much I hate cancer?

I’m sorry boxes…May you be able to find the courage to comfort her through this difficult time.
Thank you for the kind words. I had some lady comfort me right before services began. When I told her why I was upset, she told me my friend had been diagnosed 6 months ago. We all know how terminal pancreatic cancer is and how long the average time that they have. My friend said she was in a clinical trial treatment.

What age did Christmas stop being about the presents for you?

I think when I was around 13 or so, the presents didn't really matter all that much. I didn't want toys anymore, maybe a video game, didn't want clothes. It was more just about having fun with people over.

It’s supposed to stop? Next thing you’re gonna tell me is Santa Claus isn’t real.

Is it because historians think Mary conceived sometime in March and then decided that Dec 25th would JC's bday?
Actually it's because Santa Claus flies all over the world to deliver presents. He even pops his fat *** down chimneys.

Dude is amazing!

With that said, I saw that the Silent Night, Deadly Night movies (bad 80's horror movies) were on Amazon Prime!

I'm sorry bigboxes. Cancer is HORRIBLE. I hope we can someday cure it.

I'm sorry, again.

I found out today my aunt died yesterday. There has been some turmoil in my family for a couple years now. I don't know who caused it and I never cared. But, my father found out today and lost it. He's the last one alive. She was the healthiest woman you could ever meet 4 years ago. Alzhheimer's hit and she just took a downward spiral.

Not to take away from your situation, but I thought I would share.
