Hope we don't lose any of our top players. Hunter sitting out of the bowl game last minute didn't seem like a good sign to me.
I see that Maciejczak went into the portal. There's a guy with some size who never panned out (or never got a chance).
Well that hurts the chances for Lincoln Kienholz. Two might have already to go to the same school
Should have been a nose tackle. Immediate impact player if he goes to SDSU.
Who are our top players that would really hurt to lose? I can't think of 1.
Possibly. We have no clue about them is the problem.
They certainly have lacked good coaching that we know.
Question will be is it a package deal with Uncle, Brother, Sister???
Shavers would hurt. Nwaneri would be disappointing
Kienholz isn’t going to NDSU. He’s going to get a million plus from a P4 program. Wish it was us.
I had hope for him but we need a bigger NT than him.
If we were ever going to DEVELOP talent and have a team that plays hard and improves as the season goes along, then most of these young guys are worth keeping. Because I have little confidence that we would find a large number of people who are better. About the same? Maybe, but that isn't progress either.
Here's a several names I'd like to keep. Hunter at WR, Mozee at RB, Nwareri not playing out of position as a two gap end, Pietrzak at DT not playing less than a year out of North Dakota HS ball. I say screw bringing in some "mid" transfer guy and see what guys like Jones and Merrick can do at LB. Shavers should only be better when he can use two hands again. Marshall and Jones are good corners. Let the stud corner out of Florida back them up.
In my view, bare minimum we need a run stuffer in the middle and a stud pass rusher. Two QBs who are good enough to start. A couple safeties who can actually both cover and tackle. An offensive tackle. That's what we need. We are screwed if we don't fill those needs and instead spend huge dollars on a former five star RB and some more WRs. Or bring in another half dozen jack of all trades & master of none DBs.

Man he looked small out there. We have a few guys on the line who do not "look the part" as they say.
I think they hoped and I thought he would grow in to a NT. Didn’t happen.
And this is why it takes 6 years to be good in the NFL. Guys are playing for three different coaches in 3 years...scheme has to be super simple, dumbed down...defenses in college are a mess, new players everywhere figuring out scheme for 3/4 of the season. Then they get to the NFL and face guys that have been in the same system for 5-10 years, who are grown men, and they are starting right away because previous young qbs flamed out. Game are competitive because every team is in the same boat, but the product is definitely getting worse in all football leagues.
