I went 3-4 last week. Pathetic. CalPreps went 5-2.
Is it possible to NOT have a Game of the Week? Nothing on the schedule has my interest.

Immaculate Conception (4-0) @ Aurora Christian (4-0)

Bmac gave AC the playbook on how to beat IC last week. AC doesn’t have the depth. IC pulls away by three scores in the end but this one’s close at the half. Why? AC defense returns 9 starters loaded with state championship wrestlers. This is the same defense that shut out Bmac 42-0 after being down 28-14 mid-way through the 2nd quarter last year. AC won’t be able to put up a lot of points against a physical IC squad. Look for a low scoring first half. AC covers the 38 points, not as lop-sided as Gambletron predicts. This is a measuring stick game for all the onlooking Class 1A playoff teams trying to figure out how scary AC will be.

[2018] Immaculate Conception (Elmhurst, IL) 41, [2018] Aurora Christian (Aurora, IL) 3
CatBox pick 34-14

Bishop McNamara (3-1) @ St. Francis (4-0)

Hats off to Sparty on the 4-0 start. The program is back on track but it ends this week. Bmac out-muscles Francis on both sides of the ball, covers the spread.

[2018] Bishop McNamara (Kankakee, IL) 34, [2018] St. Francis (Wheaton, IL) 17
CatBox pick 28-7

Aurora Central (1-3) @ Riverside-Brookfield (1-3)

R-B is all kinds of pissed off after losing to a 1A AC team at home last week 6-2. Program is adrift but this will be a defining moment for R-B at home. Bulldogs struggling to score points this year but find a way to win this one.

[2018] Aurora Central Catholic (Aurora, IL) 22, [2018] Riverside-Brookfield (Riverside, IL) 19
CatBox pick 14-13

DePaul Prep (0-4) @ Wheaton Academy (2-2)

This is a mis-match. WA gets back on track easily after back-to-back losses to IC and Francis. DePaul covers, 44 points is a lot to give up.

[2018] Wheaton Academy (West Chicago, IL) 44, [2018] DePaul College Prep (Chicago, IL) 0
CatBox pick 47-7

Elmwood Park (3-1) @ Fenton (2-2)

EP bounces back after getting upset by St. Edwards last week. Fenton won’t get in their way.

[2018] Elmwood Park (IL) 26, [2018] Fenton (Bensenville, IL) 21
CatBox pick 28-14

St. Edward (1-3) @ Guerin Prep (2-2)

CalPreps picked EP over Ed’s 35-17 last week. Ed’s managed to beat Elmwood Park 25-22 last week handing EP their first loss of the season. Perhaps the Green Wave has a little more horsepower than originally thought. Gotta go with the momentum and St. Eds as Guerin drops their third in a row.

[2018] St. Edward (Elgin, IL) 31, [2018] Guerin College Prep (River Grove, IL) 19
CatBox pick 34-14

Chicago Christian (4-0) @ Ridgewood (3-1)

Guerin Prep is the common opponent of these two teams with CC winning 14-6 and Ridgewood winning 28-6. Chicago Christian hasn’t really played anyone yet and has managed to win their last three games by only one score. I just can’t see a 5-0 Chicago Christian team.

[2018] Chicago Christian (Palos Heights, IL) 24, [2018] Ridgewood (Norridge, IL) 14
CatBox pick 22-15

Immaculate Conception over Aurora Christian

AC is a nice squad, but ICCP is way out of their league. I don't see this game being any bit competitive.

Bishop McNamara over St. Francis

BMac proved that they are back to their old ways and while the Spartans are doing great, them playing great this week won't be enough. BMac by 3 tuddy's.

ACC over RB

Could this be the game of the week in terms of most evenly matched? RB is just down this year and as a man of the Catholic faith, I will roll with ACC this week.

WA over DP

Does DePaul score this week?

Elmwood Park over Fenton

We found out that EP are a bunch of "paper tigers" with that bad loss last week, but their playoff march continues this week with

St. Edward over Guerin Prep

Guerin's early season dreams are slowly turning into a nightmare as Eddie's heads into River Grove to get the W

Ridgewood over CC

CC is 4-0. Staring the playoffs right in the eyes and I think this is a MUST win game for them in that I could see them finishing 4-5. Ridgewood gets the job done without too much stress

AC vs IC should be competitive. It's been quite some time since IC has beaten them in Aurora. Although that can partially be credited to changes in conferences for both teams a few years back

To even think that Sparta should be on the same field against BMac after the last few years is a victory for the Blue and White. I like where SFCP is heading regardless of this game’s outcome.
