I've never understood why Trump and his loyal followers have clung to that verbiage. Just because you're not under investigation today doesn't mean that you won't be tomorrow. Seems pretty simple.

The investigation has been underway since July 2016. A very long time. He is not under investigation. Nice try.

You miss the humor in the line though. If a man says all men are liars then since a man is saying it he is a liar and thus it may not be true that all men are liars.

It's like that line from an Elvis Costello song that goes "When I said that I was lying I might have been lying."

Or Scarface who said "I always tell the Truth, even when I lie"

Who told Trump that he would never be under investigation? ever heard of obstruction of justice? who are they talking about when that term is brought up? why is Trump hiring lawyers for himself? nothing to see here...

Give it up. No obstruction as our most renowned legal scholars admit and Comey testified he is not under investigation into collusion.

What will you and the Dems do when nothing comes of this? Lose the next election big time since the Dems are only engaged in resistance and not in getting anything done.

When nothing gets done it's usually the party in power that gets blamed.

Not getting anything done?! lol No, that's what the Repubs are doing while controlling the White House and Congress. The paralysis and inability of the Trump admin to get anything done will not serve it well at the midterms. Congressional Republicans will turn on Trump depending on how many congressional seats he costs the Repubs. Your window of opportunity is closing rapidly.

Gee, I remember Obama talking about GOP obstruction all the time. Maybe you missed his constant pontification on this matter.
The GOP absolutely obstructed but you didn't hear me or anyone else say that the Repubs (in the minority) needed to get their agenda going like you say the Dems need to now, smh.

So, you don't trust this investigation because of "friends", but you are OK with Trump maintaining ownership of his business and his statement that he will not allow "a conflict of interest"?

I don't deny that the Dems don't obstruct some and the GOP obstructed some against Obama. Obstructing the ones in power pisses off the public and they vote out the people in power and put the other side in. So the GOP obstructs Obama and the people put in the GOP in response and then the Dems obstruct the GOP.

But the thing is, the Dems were more united when it came time to get things done. The GOP has been split since it became clear that Trump had a real chance of getting the GOP nomination. Lots of people in the GOP don't like Trump. Can you remember a POTUS election where a candidate got so much heat from his own party? I can't. Now the GOP has a majority in both houses of Congress but it's a majority in name only because some GOPers want to do Trump's bidding while other GOPers don't like Trump.

Why didn't Comey answer Cotton's simple question with a "No?" Read a portion of the transcript below:

COTTON: Let’s turn our attention to the underlying activity at issue here: Russia’s hacking into those e-mails and releasing them, and the allegations of collusion. Do you believe Donald Trump colluded with Russia?

COMEY: That’s a question I don’t think I should answer in an open setting. As I said, that — we didn’t — that (ph) when I left, we did not have an investigation focused on President Trump. But that’s a question that’ll be answered by the investigation, I think.

That's very strange. I wonder why Comey just simply couldn't say "no."

Trump has little to noting to do with GOP turmoil. Take Obamacare for example, some GOP Senators want to maintain huge Medicard expansion (Capito, for example), others are fiscal conservatives and don't want to. Same with tax reform. Some want it fully paid for with cuts elsewhere. and others don't. It is fools gold to think the GOP is doing this because of Trump.

In no way do I expect a man worth $10B to sell (firesafe) everyone of his properties/assets. Ridiculous. The separation he has engineered has passed attorney approval in the White House. We never had to worry about this with Obama since he never held a real job.

Because as we learned because of Whitewater, discussions between the president and White House counsel is not considered client/attorney privileged.

Wrong. Discussions between the President and White House counsel are privileged; White House counsel cannot represent the President when he acts outside of his duties as President, such as criminal accusations. White House counsel cannot defend the President in potentially criminal matters...if he were accused of breaking and entering, robbing a bank, obstructing justice, committing perjury, committing sexual harassment, discrimination, etc.

If he were accused of doing something illegal while doing his job, like signing a treaty, etc. they could defend him...like this potential violation of the Emoluments Clause.

He's hedging trying to hurt Trump who fired his ***. He did say:

"As I said, that — we didn’t" re: investigation of Trump. What we do know is that every single intel committee member when asked has said there is zero evidence of collusion.

We're saying the same thing in different ways.

You should know, you were an idiot yesterday, you're an idiot today, most likely you'll be an idiot tomorrow (though I suppose there is a chance you wont be).
