not too surprising given last game. Honestly both of them scare me so I'm not too upset either way

Was watching BTN and Beyond last night with Wanny on the panel. One of the things they agreed about was that while Cardale Jones brought the aspect of the deep threat, the offense and the entire team appeared to run better and be more ENERGIZED with Barrett as the QB.

They also considered the scenarios of if Indiana would get to 6 wins, and all three said yes. When it came to Rutgers, Wanny said no, saying we would not beat Nebraska. He pointed out he had a lot of colleagues/ friends on our staff, but he seemed to think Nebraska was getting it together and would be tough to beat.

JT is an incredible runner who can also pass very well. He is the very definition of a dual threat quarterback.

You want to beat them at their best.

The pressure is different when you are the starter than when you are coming from the bench.

Welp.... there goes the upset chance. Jones was our only shred of hope.

And J Leman said yes, Rutgers would get to 6 wins by beating Nebraska, Army, and Maryland.

Wanny also said RU has the best Special Teams in the country and is the heads of every opponent's Punter and Kicker. He credited the Indiana Punter's muff on worrying about the rush.

It's kind of surprising that Jones was named the starter in the first place. Meyer 's offense needs a QB that's a great runner to truly work efficiently. Jones was just average in that area.

Interesting analysis of the situation, for anyone interested: http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2015/10/urban_meyer_picks_jt_barrett_j.html

Blames the play calling and the lack of a deep threat emerging to take advantage of Cardale's strengths. Nothing I can really disagree with. I've felt all year they've had a round hole offense they were trying to pound a square peg into.

So why did it happen this way?

Meyer shot for the stars, taking a risk on Jones' big upside. He did it knowing that Barrett, the ultimate good soldier, would stay at the ready in any circumstance. It may have been a risk worth taking, because with the easy schedule and Barrett's easy nature, if it didn't work this possibility - back to J.T. - would always be there.

So the pressure got to Urban and now he has to look for a better way , instead of doing what made the Buckeye's undefeated so far this season.
Guess what's good enough for other opponents ain't good enough for RU :cool2:[banana]o_O

You might. I just want to beat them. No one will remember beyond net week the circumstances of the win.
Agreed. As a player, it's nice to beat someone at their best. But that's a whole different thing.

As a fan, I want to play the best, but I'm totally okay if the best have their worst day of the season when they play us. Just want to watch the team win.

Barrett put on a clinic against us last year in Columbus. Hopefully Rossi has figured out a little bit on how to slow the Bucks down.

I guess we'll have to knock out both QB's like we used to do back in the day ie Russell Wilson, etc... Didn't a former coach used to accuse us of knocking out QBs on purpose?

Ok now the million dollar question how many QB's did we knock out that year and what were their names, no cheating.

I'm getting flash backs of Pat White slicing through our defense like a warm knife through butter.

Last years OSU offense was unstoppable and we weren't the only lucky recipients of that treatment.
By this time of the year last year, I had watched OSU several times and excluding the Vtech debacle I had thought that they were the best team I had seen all year (turns out I was right--not trying to toot my own horn)

But that was last year and I have seen almost all the OSU games this season and they simply are not as dominant so far. Maybe that's because the QB situation was uncertain, but this isn't last year's OSU team--at least so far

Humor me guys, I don't expect to win, but I want to have SOME hope!

The scary part is that not only can Barrett put up video game numbers against us, we will be the poster child for the rest of America to question why Urban did not start him earlier.

Or be the team that proves Urban right for not starting JT:pray:

Don't think RU will win, but upsets happen and that's why I refuse to be all doom and gloom ,
even when the Scarlet Knights are hosting the Buckeyes.:chairshot:

Anything can happen, Pat. The Washington Generals beat the Harlem Globetrotters a couple of times!
