Notes:
1. Pearl River Central got the short straw in 5A. Region 3-5A in football (away from Picayune and the Coast) and playing basketball with Brookhaven, Natchez, and Wingfield.
2. West Jones, Laurel, South Jones, and Wayne County are all in the same basketball region.
3. MSMS is in 3A instead of 4A. Sumrall is also in 3A.
4. I thought that Ackerman and Weir were consolidating beginning in 2013. They're separated here.
5. Heidelberg was listed as 2A previously. Now they're in 3A.

I didn't realize that MSMS was that big

Jackson Academy would be 3A, so they're bigger than most private schools.

Yeah, in the initial list I saw a few days ago, MSMS was 4A because the compiler was assuming an Ackerman-Weir consolidation. The MHSAA isn't at the moment.

Courts haven't ruled on it yet. The School board has approved a consolidation plan but they are under a Federal desegregation law in Choctaw Co. They have to get the ruling from a Federal Judge that approves their plan. I would have thought a ruling would happened by now but it hasn't. I still expect it to happen before another year but until it does they are considered separate schools.

Realignment knows no bounds. I expect my kid's 5th grade to merge with the 6th grade pretty soon.
