That makes their big guys now.. Chris Bosh, Mike Miller, Udonis Haslem, and now Big Z. Doesn't look good for Jarvis IMO.

Varnado wasn't going to start, especially at center. But, if he can show in the summer league that he can defend and rebound, he may be able to claim a roster spot. If he can at least give a few minutes at center in the summer league, then his ability to play 4 or 5 would be nice to have on the bench.
Also, Mike Miller is a shooting guard, not a big guy. Behind Bosh, Haslem, and Z, theyneed 2-3 otherpost players on the roster (especially considering Z's age and injury factor). Those roster fillers will have to be minimum guys, which Varnado will surely be.

did you really think these 3 guys were just going to get on the team and that was all the Heat was going to have? They have been talking to these guys and agents all along. They knew before LeBron's announcement who most of their team was going to be.
As far as LeBron playing point, I think that's the plan.
When you have 3 guys with contracts exceeding 100 milliondollars, it is not exactly easy to fill out the roster with quality players. They did a great job with that.
I still don't think the Heat will win the title. As much as I loathe the Celtics, I think they are still the better team especially after signing Jermaine Oneal and resigning all of their Big 3 to go along with Rondo.

Miller is a huge get, he's perfect for them, a career 40% three point shooter will really open it up.
you can bet Riley had a real good idea who was coming to Miami...Miller talked about wanting to play with Haslem, who is his best friend. I can assure you Riley had talked to Miller through Haslem by way of Dwayne Wade. All this stuff has been in the works for over a year- targeting players and such. It didnt just start after LeBron's announcement
Most people have no idea who the coach of the Heat is and I have no idea how he got the job to begin with. I had never heard of the guy before the Heat hired him. There is no freaking way Pat Riley is going to sit this year out as a coach with this team.
