This is not really a surprise. Hornh's brother was Bennie's right hand man for many years. It's not a coincidence that Hornh announced his run for mayor a month prior to the indictments being announced for Lumumba, Owen's and Banks.

Yeah. Replacing Chokwe with Hohrn was orchestrated at least a year ago. Kind of surprised Bennie went public with the endorsement, but I guess he just wanted to remove any slim chance of anythung happening.

I think Chokwe put his hand in the cookie jar one too many times and Bennie had enough of his ****. I'm not sure Horhn will be better, but I can't see how he can be worse. Lumumba comes out in a recent interview and says that when you boil it down, he's a conservative at heart. HAHAHA. I needed a good laugh today.

....or he wanted to make it look like his endorsement (1) is the reason Horhn won (2) he's getting something in exchange

Possibly. Also possible he was just so inept that it was making Bennie worried about what light might be shown on his business. The fight over trash pickup looked like obvious corruption. Not good for anybody taking payoffs in the Jackson area.

I think Hohrn will be a big improvement. Probably about as good as Jackson could realistically do.

and yeah, whatever Chickwe did, Bennie had enough. That investigation & indictments don’t happen without Bennies approval.

Surely he didn't say that did he?

I can't understand how anyone with an iq above 105 can vote for Chokwe after the entire water department thing. I understand he didn't start it, but it is very clear he knew it was a problem and did nothing about it. Or didnt know how to do anything about it.

If senators and reps have that much power its sad as 17. I don't doubt its true but i don't want to believe it.

do too much stupid crap and get the Feds snooping around, no telling what they'll find. I'm sure Benny was looking out for himself some in arranging Chokeway's exit

H/T to Hadad who made this point.

I agree with this. Conservatives believe in little government spending. He certainly believes that, he doesn’t spend government money. He just keeps it
