I watched the Mich-OSU game this year and Michigan always went for it on 4th down in field goal range. Even from close FG range. Commentator said its been a season-long problem that Michigan doesn't have a FG kicker. Now that's bizarre.

And its great news for us since we are good at holding people out of the endzone and forcing FG attempts instead.

Michigan has two kickers who have combined to hit 4 out of 13 field goal attempts this season, with a long of just 37 yards. One of them is 3 for 9 and the other is 1 for 4. It's unfathomable that a Big 10 school like Michigan doesn't have a kicker that can hit even 50% of his kicks.

Seriously - why doesn't a school like that hold walk-on try outs? I guarantee you there are 20 kickers already in school there who are good enough to be on a D-1 college football team.

I think in the OSU game, Michigan's punter had been suspended and left at home, so they were using their place kicker to punt, and he reeled off a booming 15 yard punt that went out of bounds around the line of scrimmage or something like that.

Not sure if it was the field goal kicker, long kicker, or if they are one in the same.

We gave up the 2nd fewest TDs of any team in the SEC, but gave up the 2nd most FGs. I really like how we match up with Michigan anyway, but this news is an added bonus.
