Utah DC apparently will be the new Utah head coach.
That was already the plan, just without the drama of Whittingham taking another job.

I guess millions of dollars always prevail, but I just can’t imagine why Whittingham wants the aggravation. If he wanted to keep coaching, just stay at Utah where he’s well-paid and immensely popular.

I don’t get this at all. KW is 66. Thought he was hanging it up because of his age. Legacy coach at Utah. Now what are the Ute fans going to think? And do guys Whittinghams age even feel like dealing with all the nil and portal stuff? Idk. Maybe KW just wanted to leave Utah.

Kinda feels like he was pushed out a little.

Seems all but official now.

Michigan will look like they did with Harbaugh but only during his first few years...not the playoff/NC years.

Then he will be "retiring"...prediction time

He is there for 4 seasons and gets them one playoff appearance and a first round loss.
He averaged like 10 wins a season his first few years...then took a pay cut and came back and won a national title. Our coach is averaging 6 wins a season, was already over-paid and just asked for 20 million more. Lets keep criticizing Nebraska because shitting on good programs that have won recently is too convenient a distraction.

I think Trev had a weird complex about how NU could/should get...

He was stuck in this stupid mindset that NU needed some weird "program builder" and also clearly did not have the foresight (probably foreskin though, gross) to see that do not need a dorky builder but you need a coach that knows how to get talent.

I really do think Trev forgets the type of players that made NU ******* amazing.
We had 9 starters from Nebraska on the 97 offense...there isn't a blueprint to do what Tom did. It was unprecedented and impossible. But we should be able to beat Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin, even when they are good.

So Neb moves down another spot in coaching ranks. Just wonderful.

This is a ‘man of character’ hire for UM. No way they could simply transition to another ‘Michigan Man’ to replace Moore. I predict he’s told them he’ll give them 5 years and his contract likely has a ridiculously low buyout. Be curious if he poaches a few coaches from Utah. Weird dynamic possible as far as possible top shelf players from Utah who start thinking about maybe jumping into the portal to follow him.

Well, his first 6 seasons as a wolf he had 3 more losses each season, I think about 45 wins in 6 seasons and quit on the covid season, I think. He also had 3 seasons during that time with 4 or more losses. I think that KW will end up like that, which is good, don't get me wrong, and I would take it (just like I what Bo did here but dorks hated that for some reason) but wolf fans are not going to be excited about that unless it looks like he is trending up.

With that said, I would take KW over rhule right now. I would also take the lead monkey from the movie Planet of the Apes to coach NU over Rhule and Johnny Five from the hit movie Short Circuit.

The Michigan job is not better than the Texas A&M job, couldn't care less about the blue blood ststus..

I said Michigan is a better job than Penn State. But it's better than A&M too, so my point stands. Unless you're into weirdo cults that have never won anything since the leather helmet days and have ridiculously high expectations and a huge, unearned sense of entitlement?

Michigan is clearly a notch or two above PSU and AM. I am not sure why people would even argue that unless they were a PSU or AM fan.

If KW's heart is in it, and this isn't just a money grab, then Michigan did really great, especially under the circumstances. I didn't know he was 66 though, and i can't really pretend to understand why he would do this. The state of Utah is amazing, and he could live anywhere there and afford it. Really strange to me he's doing this.

We could have hired Whittingham in 2015. But Dumbass Eichorst hired Mike Riley instead.
Rumor had it he basically begged for a interview but Barry alveraz operative wouldn’t even give him the time of day
