Mid Mississippi Classic

For those baseball fans out there, the Mid Mississippi Classic started yesterday and runs through Saturday. This features some of the best High School Baseball teams from Mississippi and Alabama. It is played at three different venues in Rankin County. The sites are Northwest Rankin, Peal and Brandon. The schedule can be found at the link below.

There are some good teams on there from Alabama. I graduated from Pelham and we had a great baseball team. Won the 6A state title 5 years ago. Hartselle is also a very good team. Dont know much about high school ball in Mississippi, but I do know about Alabama high school ball, and weve always had very good teams in our state title games.

Pearl and Brandon always put together solid teams, Terry is usually strong as well.
Madison Central is often better than solid and Northwest Rankin is a beast year in and year out.

If Pelham is stout as well, that first game at NWR should be one to watch!

Actually the Pelham/NWR game was played last night. Pelham hit back to back homerun's in the top of the 7th with 2 outs to win 5-4. It was a great game. Madison Central defeated Cullum 3-0 in the night cap

pitched tonight against NWR. Throws hard 88-90 but didn't show much poise and got beat 16-0. Hopefully this was just one bad night. NWR got a few hits, started bunting and the wheels fell off.
