You see by my start date and low post count that I really don't know much about UK inside news. But at a family gathering yesterday, a close relative who is not a manager but hangs out with them and visits the bb lodge often told me that a rumor was floating about a mid-year player coming in. Some do earn a hs diploma early and are eligible. Has happened before. Is this hope or hype? Any legs? Anybody know or have heard the same rumor? Really doesn't project to be an answer to current weakness.

SHARE ANY INFO or rumor

The title should read Mid-year signee. sorry

Cannot imagine that a HS player coming in early would add much to the team at this point. Maybe Baker will be able to help with shooting after first of year???

Agree. We thought that Diallo would, but we know that turned out.
The big man at UTenn several years ago help them. (The one we missed on)

A mid-year big transfer, who may be eligible the year after, could help with the front court situation. But I'd really only want this if it's a multi-year thing.

No desire for a half year player to come in. Not sure what Kentucky as a team gets out of it and it seems much more beneficial to the player.

I still to this day think Diallo was hoping for a 1/2 and done, and that he wasn't thrilled to have to spend another year in college. No problem with that, not mad at Diallo if it were to be the case. But the priority is to build a team and win games, not help a player to the NBA by having a 3 month layover.

5 games in and people want a transfer?! Kentucky will be just fine. We legitimately go 10 deep with some really good players. Cal is giving everyone a chance to shine, but eventually 10 will be down to 8 that he can trust.
I truly think this is a really good team. Once they gel a bit more and most importantly, DIAL IN ON DEFENSE, I think we will be trouble.

The OP said someone around the program is saying we are looking at getting a mid season guy.... I think you misread the OP

If u look at Cals picture of the team yesterday at the Salvation Army there is a taller kid standing behind Brad and next to Keldon. I couldn't figure out who he was but he was at least as tall as KJ. Maybe I just didnt recognize the kid but it definitely caught my eye

When I said "he" I was referring to the kid I didnt recognize standing between Zan and Keldon. I started my comment by saying I know who Tyler is because the guy above thought I was talking about Tyler

Only picture I’ve seen, Zan and Keldon are on opposite sides. No biggie.
Side note: How do you post a photo from iPhone camera roll?

I dont know how to post a pic either. The pic I saw was on Coach Cals Twitter. And on the back row on the right side of the pic is Zan, the kid I dont know, then Keldon.

Zan Payne, Spencer Washington (I think), PJ Washington. Keldon is on the far left.
