HUGE home opener for coach Boykin and the Clinton Dark Horses. In my opinion this is Boykins biggest game to date in his Clinton tenure, the pressure to win this game is very very high. Last week Clinton showed their ability to adapt by switching to wildcat and H back run heavy offense. I was extremely impressed with their defense, it was suffocating at times. This week I have heard that Jaden Williams #15 is out which is a big loss but Clinton has huge depth. QB1 Miles is back and I expect him to prosper against these slower defenses he will be facing this year compared to last at Rolesville. Miles is always looking to take the top off defenses and makes great reads for a 16 year old kid. I don't expect him to roll out as much with the injured knee but he is a capable pocket passer. RB1 Miller is a lighting bolt in a bottle who creates lots of yards after initial contact. Clintons size, speed and coaching is way up there

Midway looked strong week one vs Hobbton blowing them out the water. They had a beautiful pass to run ratio, slowed the game down when they wanted and went tempo when they wanted. They controlled every single aspect of last Fridays nights game. With all that being said it was Hobbton..... slower secondary, poor dline play and the linebackers are not what Clinton will put out there tonight. The Clinton secondary is faster, stronger and smarter. Midway should be able to establish a good run game because of a great o line and greats RBs but if they shoot themselves in the foot with mistakes and get behind the chains I can't see them being able to recover.

I expect this game to be back and forth throughout because both teams do match up pretty well but overall depth and limiting mistakes are where this game will be won.

I think you’re giving Clinton too much credit. 34-21 Midway

I don’t know what “baby mama drama” on a football field is, but according to Clinton’s radio crew it’s going on right now. 😂

Midway is up 42-26 in the 3rd.

Don’t think Clinton’s offense look bad tonight QB definitely is talented and WR #2 is a playmaker. They did fall in love with the deep ball a little to much late nothing wrong with taking the short to mid range intermediate passing game. Defensively it was bad but credit Midway they are big and aggressive up front and disciplined didn’t see many holding or false start penalties on them and both running backs #8 Blue and #2 Tew are solid.

Clinton’s biggest issue tonight other than the defensive woes was special teams.

-gave up KO return for TD
-Muffed kicked that led to Midway TD
-illegal sub penalty on Midway punt attempt that was shanked(after penalty Midway decides to go for it on 4th down and picks it up scores TD a couple plays later.
-And literally executed a perfect onside kick but ran past the ball.

People have to know who’s on special teals and who’s not
I don’t understand nit going for 2 when 16 and then onside kicking. I reckon the think g might have been like the Duke coach onside kicking we went going to stop them anyway so we may go ahead and try and steal a few possession. I was impresssed with the qb McCallop transfer from Wake County. He definitely has a skill set
They need to a whole lot of tackling reps this week until they get it right. Some. Of the defensive players needed to pay admission because they were watching the game
If they can get proficient in tackling the can punch out enough offense to win games
If you’re responsible for a penalty you should have some stadium atepd to run

Also in my opinion that breaking point in the game was right before halftime. The sequence where Midway scored on a pass down the seam to the big tight end. Clinton fails to recover the ensuing scib kick then Midway scores the next play on what looked like the same exact tight end pass play……..that was a back breaker for the Horses. 14 points in what 15 seconds gametime ouch.

Something similar happen to Scotland last night as well. Gave up 15 points to Richmond in like 15 seconds. TD pass and a pick 6
