Talking about Southern Miss and SC game and had wrong emblem for Southern Miss. It was some green and gold lion or something?
How hard is this to get right? It's their job to talk about college football.

It doesn't even compare to a popular TV program on the "WWL" not even knowing how to show the right mascot for a Div. I-A school. I still believe that the average poster on this message board knows more about sports than the average ESPN staffer does, even though it's their job to know about sports.

graphics intern from Ivy league school searches ESPN files for SOUTHERN MISS and thinks MISS is abbreviation for Missouri.

Had a buddy who interned at the WWL one time. He said it was full of Northeastern school kids that were pro sports enthusiasts and knowledge of college sports did not extend past USC, Ohio State, Texas and Florida. They could tell you the number of pass attempts that the St. Louis Cardinals backup quarterback had in 1982 but couldn't name the 6 schools in the Big 12 South. College sports are not just unpopular in the Northeast, they damn near don't exist once you get north of State College, Pennsylvania.

So when you see Ole Miss and State logos mixed up, thank of the Giants fan that went to Columbia that has no idea there are two schools in Mississippi.

But the people who are responsible for it should know enough about sports to not have stupid screwups like that.

Wasn't chastising them. I'm sure it wasn't them who put that up there. Some ESPN staffer did it and should do a little more research on the two teams who are playing tonight on their network.

And, it was Missouri Southern one.

I don't see how anybody could expect that they would personally see the graphics. There's still no excuse for that level of unprofessionalism to happen over and over at ESPN. Their staffers don't appear to be much more qualified than you'd see at any small-town news program.
