Ready to go !?! That doesn’t seem possible. Even a minor ankle sprain would still be an issue this far out.

While I hope it’s true , I’d rsther him take a couple extra games so he can last through end of the season , particularly the B1G tournament

Great for Mike. He gets to finish his Rutgers career on the court where he has been a warrior for us from day one.

I would just be happy if he got to play in the B1G tournament at the Garden. This is awesome news!

I hope Williams is doing what is best for himself. He pushed through injury at the start of the year, and it seemingly ended up bringing him to his recent injury.

It did? He sprained his ankle. Could happen to anyone at anytime on the basketball court. Come on.

Sometimes we like to worry too much. If the doctors have cleared him and he feels good, I say let him play.

And your knee being unstable doesn't affect your ankle? I could care less about wins or losses. Was Williams not grimacing in pain during the start of the year? Was he not hobbling? Sorry, I want Mike WIlliams to be able to play for a long time.

Just to clarify, not discounting anything BK has mentioned. We all admire the work Brian does, and the relationships he builds with the players. Just giving my two cents about Mikes health this season. The initial report from the program seemed like it would take longer. I also spoke to Williams this past week, so I am just surprised he would be back this quickly.

I am not worrying. Just seeing this as more than this year for Williams. If he is playing, I assume he is okay. The results will show on the court.

This is his last year. Im sure he's doing everything he can to play and may be pushing up the timetable to play. I had a grade 2 high ankle sprain when I landed on someone's foot going up for a rebound. It took a couple of months for it to get to the point where i could play again. I'm sure his treatments are helping him heal quicker

Here's my issue with what you posted. The word "seemingly." While at first glance you might think, "Ah, I'm hedging my bets here" but seemingly causes a reader to infer that that is "likely" the reason Mike twisted his ankle, when no one but the coaches, players and doctors know. When you use a word like seemingly, it creates a narrative that people on this board will come to believe, when we don't know.

Mike is my favorite player on this team. I want him to play for a long, long time. But, I trust Mike, the coaches and the doctors to make the right decision.

Completely agree. There's zero indication that some previous injury that was 100% healed as far as anyone could tell, given Mike's completely unfettered movement, had any connection to him spraining his ankle - ankle sprains almost always just "happen" due to bad luck in stepping on someone's foot or landing awkwardly in some other way. If he's medically cleared he should play. Having said that, there's little chance he actually had a severe high ankle sprain, as nobody comes back from an injury like that that quickly. Great to have him back.

You are right. My wording could be better.

I’ll focus on my wording more. My point is what you also recognized in your post. Also, the body is a sun of moving parts. They effect each other. Mikes mishap at the start of the year could have had an affect on his more recent one. It is not 100 %that they don’t affect each other. Well see on the court if this is the right decision.

I am thrilled to see this. Hopefully Mike can add something to our team and we can play much better. I look forward to him playing against Northwestern, Illinois and in the BIG 10 Tournament in person. I also hope he and the entire team can finish up the remaining part of the season being healthy.

What are the chances that the team keeps it under 10 and Mike's 10 is enough for the " W " ? We deserve a break or two.

I did hear right from what Mike Williams said at the Indiana game though I expected him to be active for the northwestern game. Regardless great news and now hopefully we get the same news about Eugene shortly and both stay healthy along with the rest of the squad

You can cancel your audiological appointment. Apparently your hearing is not as bad as you may have feared.
