I dont necessarily agree with the call... But those corndogs dont 17ing mess around. Mullen would have been toast after the USA game if they ran the show here.

Excellent. The players love Miles. If they quit on the team, it gives my Eagles a chance to pull off the upset in Baton Rouge.

Bob. Stoops.

Funny you say this. I have a co-worker who used to be the AP writer for Auburn. This week he said the following things:
Stoops to LSU, if Miles gets let go this year.
Hermann to stay at Houston.
Sumlin is very well liked for the Saints job.
If the Colts move Pagano, Saban wants the job.
Auburn won't fire Gus this year.

There is a ton that I disagree with, but this guy still has lots of friends in the business.

I could easily see that happening (players quitting). I'm just pissed this didn't happen 2 weeks ago. WAMSU. Oh, and I doubt Fournette plays another down this year. He gone too.

And that's what happens at a school that expects a return on their investment! They don't wait for the person they're paying millions for to run the bus completely into the ditch! They address the problem when it is clear where they are headed.

They did not want to run the risk that he might win some big games and save his job again like last year. I suspect everyone involved with last year's attempted coup insisted that they get this over with now.

Orgeron as interim coach worries me, because he did well as USC's interim. If LSU still has a good year, I hope they are dumb enough to Orgeron the permanent head coach.

During the Auburn vs. LSU game they had a Trivia Question "When was the last time Auburn won a game WITHOUT scoring a Touchdown?"

The Answer was 2008 Auburn 3 - MSU 2

I remember after Auburn won that 3-2 game they FIRED their Offensive Coordinator Franklin....at MSU we kept our Offensive Coordinator Woody McCorvey (spelling?).

Mullen should thank his lucky stars that he coaches MSU and not some other SEC team that is not nearly as understanding & compassionate as us.

I did. Like it's a big mystery who those two are going to pick in the game. I suppose they have them there to pick other games for the day.

I wonder if you polled TN fans after fulmer, say 5 years after they fired him (2008), would they have kept him knowing the abyss they were falling into. Kiffin (fiasco), Dooley, and now butch. Maybe Fulmer didn't look so bad.

Texas is another that has been searching since Mack, but they were fed up with him. they seem to be better with Charlie now, but looking back maybe 10-2 most years wasn't so bad. That UT job is way more than just coaching x's and o's. http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/coaches/mack-brown-1.html

I seriously doubt they fired him based solely on that one game. It was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Considering it was his third game as their offensive coordinator, it think its safe to assume that game got him fired.

I think you have to

also take into consideration their expectations for this year. Many thought they had one of the most talented teams in the country, preseason. With the way they've played their first 4 games, being 2-2 (could've lost to us, and we suck), you have awful results.

Well that certainly gives the sportswriters their talking points for the OM-LSU game. I'm sure OM fans will enjoy skull dragging their former coach up and down the field.

If Fournette has shut it down by that point we have a chance. I watched State give LSU all they wanted last week. USM has enough playmakers to make it interesting. Ito Smith is an SEC caliber RB. The question is, can the USM line open up holes? Guard to guard, our OL is solid. I'm worried that LSU may feast on our C-USA tackles though. We have one receiver in Isaiah Jones that reminds me a lot of DeAndre Brown, both the good and bad aspects. On defense, Dylan Bradley can cause problems for any OL. I know we're probably going to lose, you bastard. Stop pissing on my parade.

They actually didn't fire him until after Vanderbilt, the 6th game of the year, and it was because the other offensive coaches, all of them Tubs' buds, and none of whom he hired, didn't like him yelling at them.

Pardon my ignorance but what were the bad aspects of DeAndre Brown? Did he take plays off? He had as much talent as anyone.

Yep. Bad attitude and took plays off. You're right, the guy had 1st or 2nd round NFL talent, but he was extremely lazy. Never even got a real shot in the pros. Isaiah Jones is a receiver that was a blue chip prospect out of high school, signed with Florida State. He came to us from EMCC. Had a great game against Kentucky. Had ZERO catches and no targets this week against UTEP.
