"I can only tell you that the management at the back end of the game was the issue," LSU coach Les Miles said, later adding: "It's my fault that we didn't finish first in that game."

When reporters asked Miles which coach decided to try to spike the ball before the clock restarted rather than going for a field goal, he said he wasn't yet sure and would have to find out. Jordan Jefferson and the Tigers never got lined up anyway and Ole Miss earned its second straight win over the Tigers and the first at home since 1998.

what amazes me is that most of these kids play Madden like 3 hours a day and then act like they have no clue what do in these situations when you're on the field.

Regardless Miles I'm sure lost most of what few defenders he had left today

that Miles has no clue about the clock rules in college football. I know that sounds bizarre for an SEC coach, but it's the only explanation I have for his decisions. He obviously thought that if he spiked it, that he would get another play. Had to.

I mean, who the hell says, "Well, we don't have time to line up for a FG, so let's just spike it". I mean, damn. At least get up there and tell LaFell and Tolliver to go to the end zone and run a fade pattern. May not work, but at least you don't look like a moron.

Do they just wake him on 4th down calls or what?

who won a NC with two losses. He has been lucky more than anything.

He may very well be the worst coach with a NC.

If he coached at MSU, we would be 1-3 win team annually.

He has a ton of talent at LSU. They are making up for his deficiencies.

They should have beaten Ole Miss by at least a TD.

It was the same as Phil Fulmer at Tennessee.

when Saban took over LSU, he had a steaming pile of **** left to him. They lost to freaking UAB his first year. In his 2nd year, they won the SEC title. Two years later, a BCS title. Flash forward to Alabama. He inherits a stinking pile of **** once again. Year two, wins the West and goes to the Sugar Bowl after a 12-0 regular season. Year 3, excellent chance at playing for a BCS title.

Miles inherited a powerhouse (built by Saban) and has slowly reduced them to just "good". 5 losses last year. 3 losses this year with a tough game left + a bowl game. To everyone except Mrs. Miles (aka Peaches), this is a no-brainer.

Really Coach? Just shut up. You are on an island with this one. Outside of his family and you, there isn't a soul who thinks Miles is anywhere near the equal of Saban.

I remember his first year, UT came back on them and he had the weirdest deer in the headlights look I have ever seen. The thing he had going for him was that Saban left it on autopilot or 3 years.

when Miles was at OSU. Colorado was actually better than both of those two, but the Buffaloes did have a losing season in there. Miles upset wins over Oklahoma were his best wins.

Miles went 4-7 his first year there, and then had an 8 and 9 win season, but then, with his first class in, he went 7-5. Same thing- won with someone else's guys, and then he started to decline. You couldn't really see the trend there since OSU was his first job, and LSU took that chance with him because they thought his resume was similar to Saban's. At LSU, he won 11, 11, 12, and then 8 last year, and has 8 so far this year.

he had four players off of that team get drafted.

None in the 08 drarft after his first year, and then they had four guys drafted in 09- Andre Smith in the first round who left school early, Antione Caldwell, Glen Coffee, who left early, and then Rashod Johnson who was a former walk-on.

We'll see about this year.

I was surprised myself. I don't know about free agents. So, unless I missed one, no.

That's amazing that Shula had a class that had zero draft picks. It was worse than I thought.

when you talk about basketball, it's only important that they were great college players (as a way of saying that Stans has plenty of awesome talent at his disposal). In the case of football, it's only important that they made it to the NFL (as a way of trying to salvage the last shred of credibility you have regarding Les Miles).

Got it.
