Saban should learn from Miles about when to pull the trigger or keep your gun in your pocket. His decisions to go for the long field goals last night were questionable. I am sure he knew it would be a low scoring game and thought 3 pts could win it, but he gave up field position three times rather than punting and giving LSU the long field. Who knows what would have happened if the Bama defense held after 3 punts and got the ball back with good field position? His team looked totally off for the OT. On the other hand, Miles, on one occasion runs the ball up the middle 3 consecutive times when deep in his own territory but turns Jefferson loose to throw on first down the next time....successfully. Miles is a clutch coach; I will take him any day over Saban. I felt this way before the game, and liked LSU to win because of him. He seems to be the kind of coach any player would love playing for....Saban does not.

One game swings your opinion like this? Saban could win next year and then what? Now he's the better coach?<div>
</div><div>They both are damn good and have won wherever they've went. LSU's players made the plays last night, that's why they won. Alabama's special teams didn't come through. That's really it. The game could have easily gone either way. It's not like last night magically decided who the better coach was.</div>

Going for that third fieldgoal with the "short" FG kicker. The first two, I got. He thinks its going to be a low scoring game, AND he trusts his defense to hold even if LSU has great field position. The third one was just crazy. He had obviously lost confidence in the long kicker, so why a try a kick that is outside the other guy's range?

Just punt.

The bonehead decision of the day, though, was putting Maze back to return that punt late in the game.

was not swung by one game. Put them side by side and I will take Miles. For sure, last night Miles was the better of the two. But I have alwaysthought Miles was the best.
