What a novel idea, I wish somebody in our administration had big ideas like this, lol. Seriously, Julie's plan for building an athletes village was one of the biggest, boldest, and best ideas for our athletic programs in a long time, probably in our history.

I know the biggest obstacle was money and the need to get something done as quick as possible, especially for basketball but building something like this here would do wonders for all of our programs.

We have the ideas.
We don't have the state and corporate support = $$$$.

When Minnesota built their new stadium the State of Minnesota contributed 48%
$137,200,000.00. Yes that is right. Over $100 million.
Compare that to New Jersey where it was reported the State wouldn't even guarantee our loans.

Minnesota also got $35 million for naming rights TCF financial
$10 million from the Sioux community
$2.5 million from Dairy Queen
$2.5 million from Best Buy
$2.0 million from Target

Another difference is the cost to build here, over $100 million for our addition.
The entire new stadium in Minnesota, including infrastructure improvements,
cost $288.5 million.

Money is a huge obstacle in NJ. Everyone has seen the dump that is MetLife stadium right? And that was expensive
