Defending National Champion LSU has lost 7 games in a row, and has a team ERA of 5.41. The fans are livid!
For the other few of you old farts on here that remember the good ol' days, from Tiger Rant:
<font class="PostDisplay">"I graduated from LSU in 1972 and if you young
kids think that this is the worst pitching ever, then you know nothing
about the history of LSU. Back when I attended LSU, we barely had 50
people at The Box. Compared to the rest of the SEC, we didn't suck, but
baseball was considered a minor, low budget sport back then. You could
sit anywhere you wanted to at The Box back then. The only school that
gave a crap back then about baseball was Miss. State. Football and then
basketball, because of The Pistol were the big sports back then.
Baseball was below our wrestling team back then as far as attendance
went. If it wasn't for Miss. States coach, baseball would still be a
second class sport in the SEC. We hired Skip after we saw the success
that State had plus Bama started having a good baseball program. You
young kids never realize what LSU was before we hired SKIP."
Actually they did suck, every year except 1975. And when he was in school, Ole Miss' program was every bit as successful as State's. His mind, or at least his writing, does a little time warp at the end, as I'm pretty sure that the Miss State coach he is referring to is Polk, not Gregory.
Everyone goes on and on about facilities? The Box was an absolute pit. I could not believe my eyes the first time I saw it. Horrendous! But Skip won 5 NC's there.
