I guess it all depends on how MSU's turns out but I think ours will look better. But hey maybe it was the photographer's fault and he took sucky pics.

It has a nice foyer and leather furniture, but the actual practice area looks less impressive than my high school gym.

that they spent money on that instead of saving to build a new basketball stadium. I just can't believe they continue to play in that piece of ****. Kennedy deserves some recruiting credit for getting players to come there. If I were a high school guy and you showed me Tad Smith I would laugh in your face.

From looking at the plans I think ours will be better, but whether it is or not, they'll both still be good.

I would expect a more impressive facility with at least two courts. They play in a venue that is the arm pit of the sec and now have a practice facility that is simply that... just a practice facility. Sure, it gets the job done, but recruits, especially basketball recruits, visit some nice facilities. I would have expected that Peter knows that circus tent they play in is a dump and that he would have made an attempt to give them some sort of advantage. I'm glad they built this. I'm also glad Pete is their AD and we have Greg Byrne.

I bet the guys would like to make a lay up without crashing into the wall. Would 5 more fee on each end have killed them?
Pic 1783 really does make it look silly.

afterall...it is for PRACTICE
It is for recruiting. There is a friggin' basketball court in Tad Smith if that's all they needed for practice. If you are a recruit and you visit Ole Miss and then State the only conclusion you could come away with is that UM just really doesn't care about basketball (which is for the most part true). Our practice facility, if built as designed, is going to be light years ahead of that. Again, put the money into building a new stadium. Until you demolish Tad Smith nothing else is really going to help.

a football IPF, no BPF at all and you start a thread dogging ole miss's brand new facility. while we have to concede tad smith is a dump, the fact is the hump is about 10 in the sec as far as arena's go, dudey noble can't carry university parks jock strap and wade davis....well i just don't know. if you want to talk smack talk 42-27 football smack but don't embarrass yourselves with "facilities smack" LOL

Well it looks like your typical campus post modern mix'n'match. The double pediment portico with the round turret makes no sense but is an obvious distraction away from the fact that it looks like any other strip mall. It's what we in the biz like to call 'lipstick on a pig' or 'tin foil on a turd'. Seems very appropriate for Ole Miss. The interior finishes are nice and the media rooms will be very helpful.

I think our new practice facility will do a much better job matching the aesthetic of the hump. But how do you try to match the Sad Pad it looks like an upside down rusted wok.

And a final note there is no need for a roof to be school colors.

Don't fool yourself. Dudy Noble is known throughout the country as one of the best venues for college baseball.

apologies to all of your facilites. I mean, ours get actual fans in them and all.

Tell you what, we'll make sure espn doesnt go on and on about the baseball tradition this year. That help University stadium feel a bit better?

Our facility is ****** compared to one which doesn't exist....right? Oh, and here's a quote from 4 star guard Ky Madden on the practice facility, "It was real nice," Madden said, "It's probably the nicest one I've ever seen." Clearly, he was bothered by the roof and wall to basket spacing.

We have a football and baseball IPF. It's called the Palmeiro Center.

You see, here is the difference with the Hump. You will admit that Tad Smith sucks and you will all rejoice when it is demolished. The MSU faithful won't let go of the Hump. Our Athletic Department has had plans to build a new area for a while but the alumni want to keep the Hump. It's home, we friggin' love that place. So instead of a new area Byrne is going to bulge the bunt cake and put in some mid-level boxes.

Dudy Noble... LOL. You wish.

Davis Wade is by far our biggest project but everything we add has been first class. You have more seats but I'm certainly not going to listen to smack from a team that only has sky-boxes in the end-zone. That's bush league.

the facility is fine. I wasn't comparing it to our non-existent one at all except to say that if (see the "if" there?) ours is built to the public plans it will be much better than the one I am seeing int he pictures. My point was you $*!%$$! play basketball in a rigid circus tent and you are spending money on a practice facility. You Rebels always seem to have **%*!@ up priorities.

And if you are going to try and be a *****...get your facts correct. It was 41-27. You really deserve a Bob Barker style beatdown. *****.

that they actually get to use it for practice. ours won't be light years ahead of theirs in the eyes of a bunch of high school kids who haven't had anything like that in the first place.

their building is nice. it gets the job done. i can be objective about OM. it's not that hard. i also think they have done a great job with their baseball renovations. is it the dude? nope. but it is a good venue.

and anyway, the biggest thing OM has to do is start winning consistently and going to the dance consistently to help recruitment the most. do you honestly believe that any recruit would care if our practice facility looks nicer than their practice facility if OM were to find its way deep into the tournament a few years in a row? or vice versa for us? i don't.

Practice facility = $ 12 million. Auburn's new arena = $ 92.5 million. Even if we built one for half as much, that is still substantially more money. It's not worth investing money in the Tad Pad. It cannot be helped. No amount of facial repairs or remodeling will make it tolerable.

Secondly, I didn't respond to you, but now that you've brought it up- you weren't comparing it "except to say"- which means you were comparing them. Simply because the comparison contains the word "if" doesn't make it any less a comparison. For instance, "If Oxford-University Stadium had left field lounge, it would be just like Dudy Noble." See?

If i need a new car that costs about $24,000 because my old car, while it still runs, is a 78' ****-brown Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. But, I only have $8000. Now, I suppose I could save that money so that I am 1/3 of the way to my new car or I could go buy some kick *** rims. Thanks for proving my point about the %@*!@* up priorities.

As for the comparison, I'll stand to that. IF we build to the plans we have shown publicly it will be far better than what is shown in those pictures. I don't think it's a comparison since our facility is still on paper but it's a true statement.

You stand by the comparison that you said you didn't make? Nice.

As to your analogy, it's more akin to buying a Harley because you're trying to bang a broad who likes motorcycles. While it doesn't replace your Cutlass, it certainly makes you more appealing and for far less money.

badly outdated and in major need of upgrading. when it gets that it will again be in the very top group of facilities. what saves it now is you msu fans. always packed loud and it is still big, but the actual facility is due a facelift.

too much fun. tad smith is very intimidating when we're winning and have great crowds....but its still a dump of a facility. the hump is "near" the bottom of the league as a "facility",,,heck camron arena is a dump but its a great venue and very intimidating. and i'm sorry but metal buildings just don't stack up even if they are named for dopers.........
